I have cyberhome 300 dvd player. I hear the sound but donot see any image on the screen. I think there is a problem with the pal to ntsc mode but i cant change it as when i put the dvd in and press SETUP nothing appears and the screen is blank. I cant access the setup of the dvd player and, therefore, cant change it from pal to ntsc mode. I also tried putting it on standby and then opening the disc case and pressing stop for 5 secs. It didnt work. How can i change the mode? Help!!!!!
You might want to reset to factory defaults, but there is an error in the manual. In order to reset to factory defaults, turn on (with no disc inside), DO NOT OPEN THE DISC TRAY, just press the stop button on the player for 5 seconds.

Re: Cyberhome 300 DVD Player: pal to ntsc mode?
Have you put new batteries in the remote? It sounds as though it simply isn't working.
If the original remote just doesn't work, I found a universal remote which works on the Cyberhome CH-DVD 320 (and should work on the Cyberhome CH-DVD 300). The Radioshack "4-in-1 Family Favorites Remote Control", model 15-2142. Available at your local Radio Shack, or probably on ebay.

I have done it! All I did was take the yellow video cord and plug it in those progressive scan plug in until I could see a blurry screen enough to be able to see to do a reset, which is under system and did a factory reset. I DID IT AND DAMN PROUD OF IT SINCE THE EXPERTS DIDN'T EVEN KNOW [email protected]

Yes there is video format for our TV and dvd players. NTSC & PAL...
NTSC SYSTEM SELECTED IN TV & DVD PLAYER PLAY PERFECT NTSC CDS & DVDS, BUT IF PAL CD OR DVD IS INSERTED SUCH PROBLEM COMES. EVEN IF, THE DVD PLAYER SETTING IS KEPT AS PAL, AND WE INSERTING THE CORRECT CD OR DVD AND ALSO IT SHOW BLACK & WHITE PICTURE, ETC.... so please check your video system in TV, DVD PLAYER and check the CD or DVD you are inserting is of same video format you have set in DVD player.
1. make sure you dont have a dvd in the player 2. close player and press menu,1,9 you should see a menu; line 3 from the bottom it will say region selection then put your region or (0 for free zone)
3. now insert disk and press close and your movie should play.
This might be a case of the player being in the PAL system. Your player is supposed to employ both PAL and NTSC systems. Just look for a key listed N/P on the remote.Press that key once, and you are supposed to be ok.
After checking today to see no one offered any suggestions - I solved the problem the hard way - I went into settings and although the screen rolled, I was finally able to click onto the ntsc setting after about a half hour of tries and once I clicked it, my screen returned to normal -- i was then able to enter the code that made the player an all region player and was happily able to play a pal dvd I received recently. The procedure was simple -- offered by a European Cyberhome user -- the company is in bankruptcy so you cannot gt help from them. Note - my Cyberhome dvr is 1500- not 1600 as you listed it.
