Question about HP DeskJet 9800 InkJet Printer

1 Answer

Hp 9800 print alignnment

I can't run though a complete precision print alighnment. When the test pages print, the numbers at the side and bottom of the page are completely missing - I do not know what to input for the adjustments. I have done several precision print alighnment test so far, all with the same result. Any assistance you could provide would be appreciated. THanks.

Reset your margins in the printer settings, it sounds like it is cutting off the edges according to margins. Post agian if no go.

My Deskjet 9800 has both cartridge lights flashing. I've put in new cartridges and ensured that they are properly seated. I cannot print a test page.

you will need to replace the carriage assembly because the cartridge has punched a small hole in the circuit contact board, which broke the circuit

Alignment page prints every time printer is turned on. HP1315 on Windows Vista Home Premium.

Take the test page ( also called : alighnment page ) that always prints when you switch on the printer and place it face down in the scanner.

Then press the scan button on the printer itself.
(this is the button at the bottom of all the buttons on the printer/scanner.)

Make sure that the printer scans the test page.
( sometimes you press the butoon and it doesn't scan )
( it makes a scanning noise when scanning succesfully )

Then it will stop printing the test page ( alignment page ) ever again.

Hp 9800 prints only quarter page

Try sending less pages to print and see what happens.
Try one to test and if it workks then send 24 of the 48 pages and finally the rest.

After putting a new black and white ink cartridge into the printer, it keeps printing the alighnment sheet everytime I turn the printer on. Ugh! What a waste of ink.

actually it is given in that allign page printout that how to stop this.
but listen the procedure.
after the allignment page is printed just place that allignment page in the scanner .the readable side of the page on the glass.then press OK/ENTER what button present in your printer.
the allignment will start.the printer will read the page.and allignment will get completed.then after u ON the printer it will not give you such problem till u replace the cartridges.

This is a really stupid product feature on HP's part to waste ink and force people to buy more cartriges.

9800 won't print

turn the cheeky thing off, unplug it, all cables, replug it. Try again once back on. Did it work? If not, try uninstalling it and reinstalling it. Good luck
