The phone rings once, very short, the faxing person hears a busy signal---won't receive and print a fax.
Faxing out seems to be working
I have tried unplugging and the menu button instruction on your website, need to know if this is set-up problem? Possibly my parameters are set up wrong?
I kept trying other things, unplugging, off and on etc and the pressing down of the menu button for five seconds while unplugged , holding it down for 5 seconds plugged in, then entering 91 and 99. Whatever. it receives nowI kept trying other things, unplugging, off and on etc and the pressing down of the menu button for five seconds while unplugged , holding it down for 5 seconds plugged in, then entering 91 and 99. Once you place your both fax machine on same line you will keep getting this issue. Fax machine is waiting for a fax ring signal that your other machine is sending.
Shut down one machine when faxing or connect your alt fax machine to a different number this way you can send faxes when need to.
Fax machines do not work well or at all on digital lines. They are designed for analog lines, like the standard phone company line. You may have to install a dedicated fax line from your tel. company.
First things first, i really want to know how things being setup in your end. Let say for example, from the walljack what is the device connected to it. Or if your using one line for both incoming calls and faxes. Or if your using a DSL also for that same phone number for faxing/incoming calls.
Those are just severa factors that affect your problems. Meanwhile, i cant give you a solution on your issue since i still dont have a clear picture on are the devices connected with each other. ALso, its really advisable that you need to use the telephone cord that came out with the box.
unplug the fax from the phone line. call it from you cell.if you hear your phones ringing in the house, plug the fax machine back into the jack. [you should still be on your cell phone] if the line goes dead or stops ringing, there is a short with the fax machine or wire to the jack.if you hear a busy signal without the fax plugged in, unplug everything you have plugged into phone jacks thruout the house. call your # again.if you hear ringing on your cell phone, plug everything back in one at a time.[again while still on your cell phone] if it was one of the phones plugged into a jack, when you plug the shorted phone back into the jack, the line will go dead again. that phone or cord is the problem.
if still rings busy when everything is unplugged, then call your phone company. it can be an inside wire or jack problem, or the problem is outside your home.
hope this helps

Just found your post and I'm having the same problem. Everything else seems to be working correctly. I can copy, scan, print and I THINK I can send a fax correctly, I should have called the person and made sure it arrived. However, I cannot receive faxes. I have an answering machine on the line, but it is not plugged into the Kodak Pinter, it is in another room. The answering machine answered the call, the FAX noise came across, but the Kodak Printer never picked it up and printed out the fax. I think I have all the settings correct, but the instructions are not very clear. Do you think I HAVE to have the answering machine plugged into the Kodak Printer? That doesn't make sense, but I might try it.
CHECK
1.DO YOU GET DIAL TONE ON -ON HOOK DIAL BUTTON OR ON THE HANDSET ?
IF NOT PLS CHECK THE PHONE LINE OTHERWISE---
2.TRY RINGING THE MACHINE FROM OTHER PHONE,CAN U HEAR THE RING ? IF YES ,PLS CHECK WHAT NOS OF RINGS ,THE MACHINE IS SET TO RECEIVE, AS WELL AS SET THE CORRECT RECEIVE MODE , I.E. FAX /TEL/ANS-FAX...
3 IF U STILL DON'T GET FAX TONE WHILE RECEVING ,THEN TELEPHONE LINE CARD SHOULD BE BAD...
TRY REPLACING TEH SAME ,SHOULD RESOLVE THE PROBLEM.
HAPPY FAXING
