Photosuite 3 download problems

I have just got an external hard drive & wanted to download photosuite 3 onto it instead of using it on my computer C drive, I managed to download it OK & the programme opened fine once then didnt open again. I then decided to put it back onto my C drive but cant find how to change the destination for it to install so now it keeps wanting to re install onto the external drive. Please help!

SOURCE: Proper or Best way to use my newly installed WD SATA external Hard Drive;

You will have to manually move your old files onto the hard drive, and manually save any new files there. It's really pretty easy.

Open up My Computer and you should see at least two drives; one will be your old one and another one will be the new drive; open your old drive in one window, then the new one in another window (just open My Computer again and select the newer drive). You can then move files from one to the other my dragging while holding down the right mouse button; after you let go it will ask you whether you want to Copy or Move; select Move.

When you save new work, if you want it to save to the new hard drive just tell it to.

One thing to note though is that unless you've got lots of media files, most of what is filling up your hard drive is probably application software (i.e. the stuff that's filling up your Start menu). For any new applications you install, just make sure that you tell it to install to a directory on your new drive (for instance, if they normally install to C:\Program FIles\[Something], tell it to install to D:\Program Files\[Something], or replace D:\ with the letter of your new drive if it's something else). It is a little bit harder to move existing applications to the new drive, because some settings may not get carried over automatically. You can try to just copy the program files from one drive to the other tho, it should work in most cases. If it doesn't, consider backing up your settings for that program, uninstalling, and then reinstalling in a location on the new drive.

Hope that helps. Let us know if you have follow-up questions.

SOURCE: i/o Magic 320gb external hard drive--how do i open it?

on the back where you plug things in, there is a silver piece of metal. you need to pry that open with something. i used a tweezer and put it into the edge of the usb port to pry open the silver metal. the silver metal is just stuck onto the black plastic. once you get that metal off, there are two screws. unscrew those and you should be able to get in!

SOURCE: Will mgi photosuite 8.1 work with windows 7

You may try installing it in windows 7 and check. If you are unable to install it then I suggest you to install it in windows XP compatibility mode and check. First create a restore point before trying this step.

Two computers ago, and two operating systems ago I purchased MGI Photosuite 4 software. I have been using it for about 10 years. I have hundreds of collages saved that require the MGI software to read and...

Wndows installers have changed over the years, so it's not a surprise that the program couldn't be reinstalled. The Roxio Photosuite 8 is listed as a Win2000-XP product; so it may not be the correct release for Win7 either unless you use a workaround. Look here for the current Roxio slide show products: http://www.roxio.com/enu/store/photo.html?rTrack=m_pro_photo

Workarounds: go with a dual-boot or virtual computer system. Win7 Pro and Ultimate let you run a virtual XP computer for free (download two programs - the virtual PC software and then XP mode). All other choices will require a licensed version of XP installed either in the virtual computer program or in a second partition for dual-boot. I've found that files can not be transferred directly from XP mode to the real computer; they must be stored on external media. Then install your software as you would on any stand-alone computer.

I hope this helps.

I use MGI photosuite and love it. I just bought a

Windows 7 and 8 much the same (32 and 64 bit) you may missing files for Internet Explorer.

Just today I was able to get PhotoSuite 4 to work in Windows 8. PhotoSuite 4 (P.S. 4) is dependent upon Internet Explorer 5 (I.E. 5) browser for its content/software to work. The original P.S. 4 CD has
I.E. 5 installer, I tried to install and the install quit with a check box to force install of all components. Internet Explorer 10 for Windows 8 was not affected in any way, that's how I got back here anyway.
I have read ton's of suggestions and one mentioned I.E. Browser dependency and walla it was the answer that took me ten minutes to get it up and running.
Good luck!

Windows 7 not compatable with photosuite 7platinum is there a patch? thanks, carol-b

Hi Carol,

I'm going to have to assume you have the standalone version of Photosuite, and not the version that comes with Easy Media Creator 7.

I don't know for sure if this will solve your problem, but try downloading this update:

http://www.roxio.com/enu/support/photosuite/software_updates.html

As a side note, if this doesn't solve your problem, could you elaborate on what you mean by Windows 7 isn't compatible? As in what happens when you try to run it?

Feel free to leave a comment if you have any further questions.

Good Luck :)

Running MGI Photosuite version 8.05 in Vista

MGI Photosuite on Vista, THE FINAL SOLUTION!!! First you need to get hold of an MGI disc or a download. I have been trying to get MGI Photosuite III SE to install on Vista for months without success and then when I thought I'd finally sorted it I could not launch the program due to a script error. You do not need Virtual PC, Virtual XP or any add-ons. Simply find and right click the the MGI setup file, check the run in compatibility mode as Windows XP SP2 and install. After install, send a program launch shortcut to your desktop, right click, go to properties and check the Windows XP compatibility mode once again. Finally, while you still have the compatibility screen open add a tick check to Run As Administrator. Hey presto my beloved MGI Photosuite is back! MGI is fantastic for being user friendly and simple, and although I know other users insist there are better programs, I’ve tried loads and I still think it’s a winner.

Incompatible Driver(s)

I would uninstall Photosuite.

I don't think that Roxio is supporting that program anymore. I have version 7.0 and it does some goofy things in Windows XP they never fixed in the slide show mode.

Download and install adobe reader for manual, if needed
use Get Adobe Reader button on this page
http://www.adobe.com

Manual link (two choose based on directions)
http://www.bushnell.com/customer_service/manuals/binoculars.cfm

There may be no driver required for vista for the USB access to the camera.

However one of the manuals indicate Roxio may provide updates for photosuite. No assurances there are that either link to provided software is applicable to your version however generally updaters will not update the incorrect software. There is also no notation that these are or are not Vista Compatible.
