My camera was working perfectly fine yesterday then when I turned it on today the lense came out and made a whirring sound and now won't go in, the picture that comes up is blury and it won't take a picture. Every time I press power it makes the same sound again. I am very careful with my camera and am certain it hasn't been bumped or got dust/sand inside. Is there any way to fix it? I tried recharging the battery and that has not made a change Thanks
Yjis is a lens mechanism failure May be dust getting in or a bump[I appreciate you are not aware of doing so] Try and see if the vacuum nozzle will suck out any grit thar may have got in. Failing that there us nothing more for you to do Except throw your self onto the mercy of of the customer support line at Ricoh

Same problem with Rich R3 and Brand new Ricoh R7. Lens locked in open position and camera does not work any more. The R7 is covered by warranty but I am hoping to avoid sending it away. Has anyone found a solution that worked for one of the Ricoh digital cameras?
