Try going into the Display properties in the control panel or right click on the desktop and go to properties. Go to the settings tab and choose advanced, you should then have an Nvidia tab. Go to that and see which device is showing for the default display, you should see your computer monitor and you tv as choices.

No Video. The monitor is OK. The integrated vga controller must have died. Can I install an external pci vga controller? Do I have to change any jumpers on the motherboard to do this?

u probably hv Integrated Intel 865G chipset on ur board..if u r using so, u can upgrade using any 'dedicated' 1 x AGP 8X/4X Card..like:
Diamond Viper ATI X1950PRO AGP 512MB
Radeon 9200 128MB AGP8X
eVGA GeForce FX5200 128MB so on....

no there's no such jumpers to reset..

..contact ur system admin/vendor for details n preference...

I have a nvidia Gforce 128 mb graphic card and it doesnot work

What is the exact model Nvidia GeForce card that you have and what brand is it?

Have you tried the card in another PC to test it? That would be the ideal way to confirm it's a card issue.

XFX GeForce FX5200 256 MB AGP. No video

Un install the video card and remove any software that came with it including the drivers, then reboot. Install JUST THE DRIVERS and none of the extra software. Then hook up the video card and make sure you have your BIOS set to accept the video card I.E. VGA or PCI depending on what kind you have.

TV signal lost

Have you had a look at the cords? Is there any damage to the hardware itself? Maybe there is something else wrong. Tried running virus scans? I know it's a long shot but it's amazing at what viruses do to your machine.
