Question about Apple iPod nano

Ipod wont recharge

I have had my ipod for just over a year. A few days ago it ran out of charge while I was playing it I plugged it in to USB to recharge and it didn't recharge. Have tried it on 6 other USB ports but nothing happens. When I switch it on it lights up for about 2 seconds and then nothing. Until this happened it was perfect. Is there anything I can do to fix it?

my ipod wont switch or recharger

80gb Video Ipod Widows format most up to date version ran out of power and now will not recharge. Everytime I plug it into a Wall Outlet charger the CHARGED symbol appears, but once unplugged it dies a few seconds later. If I let the battery run down until it displays the "Low power, please connect your battery to a charger" message and then connect it to the wall charger, the CHARGING symbol appears and it seems to start recharging. However, about 1-2 minutes later the CHARGING symbol changes to a CHARGED symbol and of course, the power goes out once you remove the charger.  IPOD is about 8 months old.

Try a regular AC wallcharger. You can get one on Ebey for under $10.00 with shipping. I have had similar problems and this seemed to solve it when the battery had completely discharged.

SOURCE: usb recharging does not work

I have seen this many times. Your battery is most likely depleted to the point that it is incapable of sending a signal to the computer. You will more than likely need to have you battery replaced. You can jump start your iPod with a wall charger, but you lost yours. A simple charger can be bought off of eBay for less than ten dollars. If you get a wall charger and nothing happens, your iPod is dead but it sounds like a battery issue.

My ipod wont turn on

Step 1: Try plugging your iPod into your computer for a few minutes. If it begins to charge, let it charge fully.
Step 2: Use your iPod as you normally would. If it needs to recharge very soon, it is a sign that your iPod's battery is dying.
Step 3: You have three choices:
  1. If it is less than a year since you have bought it, go to the Apple Store and they will replace it for free on the spot as part of their 1 year warranty
  2. If it is older, pay them a fee to fix it OR
  3. Bring your iPod with you, and buy a new one for 10% off.

I don't know why stop my ipod

Greetings Aek Smarth,

Your ipod has probably overheated. Here is what you should do:
  1. Turn on your ipod and let it play until it dies.
  2. Plug in your ipod and fully recharge it.
If your ipod is unable to be turned on:
  1. Plug it in and charge it for over a day.
  2. Attempt to turn it on after this day.
After having it plugged in for a day, it should reset itself and be like normal. If it does not reset itself, than your out of luck. Thank you for using FixYa! =)

My ipod won't charge. keeps saying "please wait. very low battery" what's wrong with it?

I had the same problem. Went to the Apple store and the technician said that the IPOD battery ran down to low (battery level showed red) and the USB port on the computer was not strong enough to recharge it. He used a rechargeable adapter that pluged directly into the wall (adapter cost about $30) and recharged it enough for me to take it home and recharge it on my computer. He said to never let the battery level drop below 5% unless you are going to recharge it using the adapter that pluged into the wall. I bought an IPOD rechargeable travel kit from Target for $20 and used it to recharge my IPOD. My IPOD works fine now. The Technician also said at some point the battery will need to be replaced (in a year or two depends). Will cost about $59 to replace it (don't quote me on the timeframe or price of replacement, this may have been just for my IPOD but thought this would be useful info for someone.

I have a ipod Nano. I turned it off two days ago and now it wont come back on. what do I do?

Have you tried recharging the battery? Use a USB cable to connect to a USB output of a computer or if you have the adapter plug it in.

Ipod wont charge :(

Because if you charge the battery too often you might be getting something which is called a "fat battery" which if what happens as well if you charge a cell phone too often, it could also be that the cable that plugs into your computer to charge it could be dusty inside...

Black 80gb ipod Video

Try resetting it. Hold down the Menu and middle button at the same time until the screen gets dark.
If that doesnt work, Restore it. Plug it into the computer and click "restore" when it pops up in itunes. Please note that this will erase all data on the device.
