MY PHONE KEEPS SHUTTING OFF! I PUT ANOTHER BATTERY IN IT BUT DOES THE SAME THING. I HAVE TO TAKE THE BATTERY OUT PUT IT BACK IN CUT IT ON AND IT WILL STAY ON FOR AWHILE EACH TIME

I have had my RAZR for just over a year and within a month and a half of buying it I had the same problem with it shutting off for no reason. I had to plug it into the charger to even get it to turn back on. Of course Cingular wouldn't do anything to help me, but I was able to find a Motorola repair store, through contacting Motorola customer service (you can also get store locations online through their website) and they fixed it for me free of charge since I was still under warranty. Apparently I needed a software update and I haven't had any problems with the phone shutting off since. I have, however, recently been having problems with the keypad and volume button, like another poster, were it seems like someone is holding buttons down, while I'm not touching the phone. I have to get the phone replaced and thankfully I have the insurance because even though I am only 2 weeks past the warranty, AT&T won't replace the phone - if I didn't have the insurance I would have had to pay full price (at least $150) for a new phone. I recommend trying to get it fixed by Motorola or making sure you have the insurance!

Try get another battery, it could be that the present battery you are using is malfunctioning, it could be bad and that could be the reason why it is shutting off and on, first, replace the battery to check the performance.

hi tazrahzeljr3 listen the best thing to do is to take the battery out of the phone.first.Then put it back in the phone . Also I want you to go to contacts and export them to your memory card. Also you should have a 16gb memory card in the driod and not a 2gb memory card. If you brought the phone brand new should take it back and get a replacement right away. Hope this help

Keeps shutting off

Hi,
when a phone always shuts off, it is either the battery of the phone is dead,
might need to be charge or replaced with another battery.

you can use another battery to test if it is the battery the fault.

The other thing to check is if the phone memory is weak and may need to be restored
back the phone memory.
will need to be flashed.
if too weak to power up the phone all application you downloaded on the phone has
VIRUS and has affected the phone memory.


First Charge the battery for longer hours before using another battery to confirm
if the battery cell is the problem.

If not battery, in think you will have to flash the phone memory for it to come back to life.

1. Turn the phone off.
2. Close the phone and turn it around so you can look at the back.
3. Use your fingernail in the middle at the top of the back and pull back toward you.
4. The battery is the black rectangle.

you need to get the firmware reflash on the phone....it's best to take it to a mobile store or mobile repair and have it done there...

Phone frozen n keeps shutting on & off

sounds like you got a real prob.
try a different batt if it still does the same then I would be looking for the shop reciept and seeing if it was still under warranty because those are classic symptoms of liquid damage.
