Screen truns blank after starting up

I have a gateway FPD2275W 22 in. LCD monitor....when I first turn on my PC I have the windows logo come on & then my screen turns white.
I can hear the music that comes on while starting up....I can turn my screen off & back on & sometimes that works... I can unplug my screen & plug it back in & it will work just fine....but if I leave my PC on & leave it...my screen will blank again. I have replaced my power cord because I first thought that was the problem. Other than that my PC runs fine as long as I am using it & not letting it go to sleep. Can you give my any advise on what might be going on with my monitor?
Do I need to replace it? or is there something I can do on my end of it to fix it? Thanks for any help on this matter.....

This is a common problem with many LCD monitors. The
printed circuit board that provides a stable voltage for the monitor to operate
from starts to fail. The PCB can be replaced, when/if they are available, or repaired
in most cases at a much lower cost. for more information on this email me at

Chances are that some capacitors in the power supply have failed. some monitors are known for this. The parts are readily available, but they do solder in.

My Gateway FPD2275W LCD monitor has just failed.

Trying to find replacement parts for your model could be a task. LCDs are so inexpensive these days it would be cheaper to just replace it. Not sure if you have a Frys computer store nearby but I saw a 22" LCD for 129.00. Check your local electronics stores also. If you did find the part for your Gateway consider the cost and installation fees.

Bad caps, be REAL CAREFUL when take the bezel out, you can easily damage the small ribbon cable attached to the front bezel.

Have you unplugged the power cord for 2 min. Try that, there are problems with these "locking" and unplugging sort of "reboots" them.
