We had a bad lightning storm last night, and now my plasma tv only works on the inputs. When on "air" its just static. One tv got fried(actually smoked) after a close lightning strike. What could be wrong?

I think the problem is dry solder joints on the tv. What makes be believe this is you turning it on and off may have been moving the component/s into contact with the board or the act of you turning it off let everything cool down enough to return to their original positions. It now sounds like the contact has broken with the component and the circuit. If you can check for this yourself otherwise find a competant technician. Hope this helps.

Go Setup in the menu. At the bottom you will see Reset The Software when power is turned off. Switch this to No.
