To ensure DC25's on/off switch works correctly, make sure you're pressing it downwards firmly. This will ensure the machine remains running and also activates the brush control swich - so when the machine is reclined into the vacuuming position, the motorised brush bar will rotate for effective carpet cleaning.
If you feel there is an actual fault with the switch we'd be happy to take some further details. Please contact the Dyson customer Helpline directly at 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) or 1800 239 766 (AU).

Hi there,
The switch failing is about the most common problem for the Dyson DC08. I have made a video of how to access the switch compartment and change the motor too if needed. Once you can see the switch it simply unclips and a new one goes in. Have a look at the video I think it is pretty straightforward. If you need somewhere to buy the switch check out nelson vacuums or vacuumspot.
Please take the time to leave a testimonial, thumbs up or review. I appreciate your feedback!
take your handle assy apart. Ive found that frequently the quick disconnect becomes unplugged from the switch. also check the cord that goes from the handle to the motor sometimes those go bad. unfortunately there is no reset on the orecks
