Yes.... You can actually take the battery out of the unit and run the unit on the DC car charger, however once you remove the charger, the unit will die immediately.

To update the software for your unit, free of charge, follow these instructions:

1. Go to http://www.garmin.com/products/webupdater, and download WebUpdater to your computer.
2. Connect the GPS unit to your computer using the Mini-USB cable.
3. Run WebUpdater and follow the on-screen instructions.

After confirming that you want to the update, WebUpdater will automatically download the update and install it on your device.

Reboot your GPS receiver, and you should have the latest updated software from Garmin.

I have problem to keyin GPS coordinate in Garmin nuv

The internal rechargeable battery doesn't last forever and so probably needs replacing.

You haven't said which model you have so I can't provide you with specific information, but if you type your model number plus "battery replacement" into a search engine then you'll find what you need.

plug it in to the house or car charger for at least 4 hours, then try again. if it still wont turn on, we can try something else.

well a loose antenna can cause intermittent connections, but so can a low battery, despite it being plugged into a power source. Make sure battery is fully chatrged before use. I would suspect the battery chage first. Even get a new battery
