SOURCE: How can I delete VersaMail from my Palm T/X? I never use it. Thanks

To get rid of versamail you can just delete the program off of your TX. No need to buy anything. You can also change the settings in versamail so that it only get email when you tell it to.

From the main page tap the options icon or tap the clock display near the top of the screen. This should pop up a window that shows delete beam send and so on. Tap the delete and another window should open. In alphabetical order there will be a listing of all the stuff on your tx. Scroll down to versamail highlight and hit the delete icon and it should go away. You should check of there are any other versamail parts shown and delete those as well. When you have gotten rid of them all click the done icon and you will be back at your normal display. If you look for the versamail icon it should be gone.

If versamail shows up again that will be due to the desktop trying to overwrite the palm. You can change the settings for that or just create a new backup ident when you hotsync.

Testimonial: "It took me a few tries but I think it finally worked. I guess I'll wait to see if the versamail failed error message pops up again anytime soon. thx"

The easier thing, would be to simply disable the conduit. Set the conduit to "Do nothing" via the HotSync Manager's "Custom" menu item and check the "Default" checkbox. Then the sync will just blow by the VersaMail conduit as if it wasn't there.
Or you can purchase Conduit Buddy:

http://www.livepim.com/condbudy/index.htm

Click on this link or copy and paste the complete link into your browser.
If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe

Versamail Errors

hi first of all here are Support Knowledge Library links: http://kb.palmone.com/SRVS/CGI-BIN/WEBCGI.EXE?New,Kb=PalmSupportKB,ts=Palm_External2001,case=obj(39328) there are two main reasons your mail will not get sent from VersaMail: 1) The outbound email server is not allowing your mail through. The server thinks your email is SPAM. Go to the section on Outgoing Mail server issues: http://kb.palmone.com/SRVS/CGI-BIN/WEBCGI.EXE/,/?St=95,E=0000000000299122694,K=3846,Sxi=5,useTemplate=Case.tem,CASE=39211#outgoing 2) You have entered some of the information incorrectly in your setup and need to check for typos and verify the settings with your ISP or carrier. follow all the instructions home page: http://www.palm.com/us/support/lifedrive/ good luck

Setup Versamail with Outlook 2000

I use Versamail with my web-based, non-work email account (which is what it sounds like you have - web-based at least). I don't sync Versamail, I just use it to dial in to my account and download/send emails.

Inbox messages syncing mysteriously

Turn off the conduit. It sounds like you dont want the Mail to synchronize at all. You can set the Mail or VersaMail conduit to Do Nothing permanently if you would rather not have mail synchronizing. Go to HotSync icon in your system tray and click on it. Select Custom... Make sure your username is selected and then choose the mail conduit. Set it to Do Nothing and ensure you check the box 'Set as Default'

No synchronization when Outlook express is default mail program

Email synch is based on current MAPI preferences. The problem you have is that the VersaMail conduit assumes your mail client must be the MAPI default email client. You could adopt another profile in Outlook instead of OExpress which picks up the account you use in OE. This is the first instance of this problem I have ever heard of so I doubt if PalmOne would make a software change on this.

Treo 650 from Cingular is not hotsyncing with Outlook Calendar?

Have you setup an EAS account in VersaMail? The VersaMail application on your Treo 650 supports Exchange ActiveSync, which allows synchronization of Email and Calendar wirelessly with Exchange Server 2003. If an EAS account exists on the handheld the Calendar conduit will disable itself to avoid duplicates. Go to VersaMail on your Treo650 Select Menu: Accounts: Account Setup Check to see if any EAS accounts exist on the device by selecting and account, then Edit... One the first screen check Mail Service. Do any of them say "Exchange Activ..." If yes you'll need to delete that account to sync calendar entries.
