Fuse missing I have a older Vector 175 watt inverter (VEC023) with the fuse missing from the power plug. (not the 30 amp. on board fuse) Can anyone tell me the rating of this fuse?

Hopefully you are actually referring to a Vector VEC060 Power Inverter 175/350 Watt DC/AC as I cannot find a listing for a Vector 350 in the flashlight or spotlight listings.
The external fuse for the Vector VEC060 Power Inverter is a standard 30A spade type fuse available at any auto parts store. If you would prefer to purchase online, here is a link to them on Amazon:
It probably does, but an in-line fuse is still the safest way to go, connected as close as possible to the voltage source as possible. The internal overcurrent protection device (aka, fuse or breaker) in the inverter will prevent the DEVICE from melting if it malfunctions. An in-line fuse will protect EVERYTHING if the WIRING malfunctions.
if it is used with 12 Volt battery, then
if fuse it to be connected on battery side, then it should be of at least 50Amp
but if is to be connected to AC supply side, then it can be of 3 to 4 Amps...
enjoy
Hi
15/16 amp would be recommended.
You could to try a 20 amp, but you will risk overheating and the possible failure of the vehicle circuit fuse.
Regards
I would put a 20 amp fuse in. The wiring for the cigarette lighter is usually around 15 - 20 Amps. The wiring also is not rated for more than 20A. I hope this helps.

Check that ground is correctly connected. If nuetral is provided, ensure it too is connected. Your total load is 780 watts. Check power in and ground out of the supply side. There may be a fuse in the inverter on the output side also, replace if necessary. If fault light does not go out after these checks, you will need to contact Black and Decker who manufactures the vector series now.
Probably has an internal fuse that is blown. You will have to disconnect it from dc power and take the cover off and look for a fuse that is blown, should be near the AC outlet or on the circuit board. Could be a glass tube or newer style automotive plug in type. Good luck.
i have the same one ...and i'm not seeing a fuse, there may be one internally does the inverter have strong "burnt wire" smell if so it is probably fried.
