My Programs won't work

My computer worked fine until i tried deleting some unused programs on it to make more room for my sims game. the next time i turned it on, the shortcut pictures were changed and the programs won't work anymore. I'm very sure I did not delete or change any of the programs I wanted, yet even the ones I didn't touch are not working. The computer won't even run my antivirus software. I've tried turning it off and then back on several times and it's still the same. I want to revert my computer back to what it was a week or two ago but i can't figure out how. I've done it before on other computers so that programs i deleted would come back, but i can't seem to figure it out for this dell inspiron 9300.

I can not download anything on my tablet because the FBI malware is the only thing I can get help Me

Go to your control panel and look in programs, and look for any programs that you are not used to seeing, because somehow you have a malware virus and it is nasty. You need to delete any programs that you know that you did not download and delete that program. restart your computer after you do this, and then download AVG free antivirus, this is what I have and it works great for these type of issues, best of all its free. You have the option to upgrade if you want, but the free version works just fine. Good Luck !

How to increase the speed of laptop

The single easiest way is first increase the speed is to upgrade the RAM of the computer, it is cheap and easy to do, the modules just plug into the mother board, the manufacturer will provide free instructions on how to do this, just email product support, it is free as I said. Next is clean up the hard drive, delete any programs that are no longer needed, also in the start up programs in the system tray turn off as many programs as possible so the computer isn't running unused programs in the back ground. I would also use the browser tools to delete surfing history and cookies every few days. You can once again get specific information on how to do all of the above by sending an email to your computers customer service product support staff. I learned all this from HP and Microsoft by just emailing them with questions about slow running computers, they are eager to assist. The single easiest way is first increase the speed is to upgrade the RAM of the computer, it is cheap and easy to do, the modules just plug into the mother board, the manufacturer will provide free instructions on how to do this, just email product support, it is free as I said. When i'm in yahoo game room lobby i can't type only numbers come up not letters

Hi clownfrog1,

I'll be glad to help you out with your concern of instead getting letters you'll get numbers on your G460 laptop when you're in yahoo game room lobby. This problem is caused by some of the pre loaded applications that goes with your G460. Don't worry because you can easily resolve this concern on your end by doing the steps below:

Applications: IDVault, Guarded ID and/or Oovoo
Note: Your system may contain any or all of the following applications listed above. All you have to do is to delete these applications.

1. Go to Control Panel, then click on Programs and Features.

2. Next, inside Programs and Features you have to look for all these three applications and one by one uninstall them.

3. The system will prompt you to restart your computer uninstallation. You have to restart your PC for the changes to take effect.

Once you are done with the procedure you can go ahead and try typing in inside yahoo game room lobby. This should fix the problem.

Thank you for using Fixya.

Want to delete free ride games get the free games off my computer

Please click the start button in the lower left hand side of your screen.
-Next choose control panel
-Depending on your version of Windows you'll need to find the Add/Remove Programs in control panel, if you're using XP it will be quite self evident (you may have to switch to classic view, a self evident option in control panel). If you're using Vista or 7 go Programs-->Uninstall Program or just Uninstall Program if you see it available under the word Programs.
-Select each of the items you want to delete one at a time and carefully follow the instructions of the un-install program. Some programs may be tricky and try to get you to sign up for something new while deleting your program so pay attention and keep an eye of for check boxes.
Hope this helps, Thank you.

I canot get Free Ride Games off of my computer.

Try going to your computers search bar in the start menu and put in the name of the game. Many selections will come up. Delete them one by one until they are gone. I'm assuming you've already been to the "Add and remove programs" section. You may also want to run CC Cleaner(free download) AFTER you do the preceding, This will remove any registry entries left by the game. Thank you, Dana

Game crash

If you wish to downgrade to XP you'll need to purchase an XP disk and then do a reformat on your computer. As far as being able to completely remove all of the files from the Sims 2 from your pc...
Login to Windows as your Administrator or primary ID
Go to your "Start" Menu
Go to "Control Panel"
Go to "Programs and Features"
Single click on the Sims 2
At the top of the folder next to "Organize" and "Views" it will say "Uninstall/Change" Click on "Uninstall/Change" it will ask you if you also want to delete all saved games. click yes then follow any further prompts it gives you. This should solve your problem for you.

Misinterpreting Program Types

many times it all as to do with how much memory you actually have. the more games the less memory, and if you use too much memeory on the actuall files it doesnt have enough to run games, to free up space either delete some files or archive them (archiving renders them unuseable untill u rearchive them) but archiving has alot more space

also some games are not compatible with mirage os or ti 84

hope this helped

HELP Installshield is giving me problems

Did you uninstall SIMS first? I would ask if you have added any new devices (like a new video card) to your machine. The idea is that a device driver is being installed and there may be a conflict or file that is locked while installing. Do you actually get an error? Please indicate it here.

1) Uninstall SIMS
2) Shutdown the computer, wait for 15 seconds
3) Restart the machine, if any new changes occur, let them happen, then start at 2 again until nothing updates.
4) Reinstall SIMS

If these don't work, make sure your machine still meets the minimum requirements of the game.

Also, see that the disk is clean. Possibly make a backup copy of the game on DVD/CD and try from that.

One more thing, make sure you scan your system for Virus.
