My canon mx310 is not accepting faxes - Canon PIXMA MX310 All-In-One Printer

maybe you've done a mistake of installing the driver of the printer...try to uninstall and reinstall the driver of the printer...and set up the fax .

There are two buttons on the MX310... one for colour and one for black & white.. Depending on which mode you're using (ie: copy, fax, etc..) these buttons will copy, fax, etc...in either colour or black & white accordingly.

These buttons are located on the far right of the control panel with colour closest to the user, black & white above that and then the stop button above and right.

To fax in black & white (or mono as it's otherwise called) just choose the Fax mod, then press the Black button and you're away...

Download and use the update from 22 Aug 2008

This should solve your problem

With the document open, you click Print, then choose Cannon ...Fax.

check out the connection some where loose or also check out connecting the external phone line to the printer and whether the same problem occurs or not.

Did you connected the line at "L" slot or try with your phone operator to check your tel. lines

Are you sure the phone cable is in the right jack? Look for the icons beside the 2 jacks - the one that looks like a phone connects to the phone. You should also apply Canon's firware update at http://www.canon.com and search for fumx310swin1040en.exe if you have Windows or for an iMac the file is MX310 series Firmware Upgrade Utility Ver. 1.040 (Mac OS X) with a file name of fumx310sosx1040en.dmg

Too bad Canon can't be bothered to email it's registered users to notify them that the machine they sold us was shipped with defective firmware and attach the fix to the message to save us from hunting for the solution.
