How old is the set The older models suffered from problems with the electrolytic capacitors in the power supply . No point in trying another power outlet or cable if the standby light has been flashing red . Power is obviously getting to the set if the standby is lit .
Has the set been a little slow staring from cold lately
Please check if the power cord is connected properly in the wall outlet and in the TV.
Check the wall outlet. Has it got power?
Check if there is red light when the power is switched on at the wall outlet. If there is red light then press the power button. Does the TV turn on? If not then your power button is defective and requires replacement as it is not making contact.
Also please try to start your TV WITH THE REMOTE CONTROL. At times it helps.
Hi, That is a real hard item to find. I found new ones for the 32" PLT3250 at Power-On.com No luck on Shop Jimmy, E-bay,or Encompass. I even tried part search. no luck. Sorry. Keep checking Ebay, and Shop Jimmy. They might get one in.
I have the same problem. I am told that I need a new power supply (adaptor) but from what I am reading on the Net, they are very rare and TV repairman told me he cannot find the part. I heard that Protron is out of business.
