My bike is leaking oil from crankcase and alot of white smoke from exhaust but seems to run ok
SOURCE: oil leak from the front of the motor
Its funny you should mention this but yes, I had its bigger brother the GS 850 G , same problem, Apparently, in my situation I did the same thing and went to the shop and let those butchers make it worse !!!, the way i found my leak was by washing the motor with a grease and oil cleaner , strayed the whole motor and wash it all off totally, then I turn her on and let her get to operating temp went for a few mile and came back and checked it, for me it was the head gasket the guys put on and i forced them to do it again,
I found out later that it was common with the suzi's of that model and ended up doing it myself, I used the original gasket and used a compound called gasket goo and it never leaked through out the 8 years i had it .
But before you do anything , surly they gave you warrant y on the work so take it back and demand they do it properly.
Cheers and ride safe

Crankcase oil is getting into the combustion process. Check the following: Crankcase oil level - make certain it is not overfilled. Crankcase ventilation system - check for blocked or kinked crankcase vent hoses.
If the smoking persists, try to take note of weather it is during acceleration, or deceleration. Smoke during acceleration normally indicates worn piston rings, while smoke during deceleration means worn valve guides and/or valve guide seals.
If the smoke smells like antifreeze, then you most likely have a leaking head gasket.
SOURCE: Smoke alot
You jetting is off on your carb. Raise the clip on the needle in the carb, if it still does it.....the it will need smaller jets.....see a motorcycle shop.Your bike is a two stroke and will smoke with oil coming out the exhaust if card is too rich. What raio do you mix your gas/oil at? Disregard the first post....he must think its a four stroke engine.
SOURCE: Hi, I have a Suzuki Katana
hi what you have just described is the head gasket leaking.you say you do not get a drip on the floor??check to see if the oil has travelled towards the rear of the head??if so how much??although this will not really affect the bike under normal riding it is recommended that you get it repaired sooner rather then later.
