SOURCE: Toshiba HD tv hooked up to a sony VCR-VCR player

You have crossed jacks somwhere in the back. Try another A/V connection. Move away from a connection ie AV1 to A/3 as an example. What happened is a common problem. It is very easy to cross paths!

SOURCE: I am trying to hook

They print manuals for these things.

Have you looked at them?

The specific products you're inquiring about are not showing in your post. Name the makes AND models first, then we'll look for the manuals. Then (maybe) find a solution. You might find it them the manufacturers' support sites or these guys...

The standard color codes for analog audio are Red/White = Right / Left; Yellow = Composite Video.

Single coaxial or optical SPDIF cable = digital stereo or multichannel audio

Red/Green/Blue = Hi-Def component video

HDMI can carry multichannel digital audio and Hi-Def video from a source to a TV

SOURCE: cant get sound via HDMI HOOK UP TO SONY TV

Some HDMI don't carry sound signals and you have to hook up the headphone jack to the TV with a headphone to RCA adapter.Sometimes you can go to control panel on your computer and turn on the HDMI sound but sometimes not.

Can't get the words for the songs to show on the TV screen

Check whether the output taken from from the Vocopro is from video/audio out. By mistake, if you had connected the RCA cable to the 'input', you won't get any audio or video and also stand a chance to damage both the devices, as video in/out is a very sensitive line.

When using a hd cable for games no sound except a horrible wail?

Maybe the blu-ray/game part of your drive is failing, which won't read the sound properly. I had a drive that wouldn't read any audio, but did play the video.

Hello
Just put in a cleaning disc to your DVD player, and play it for at least three times, and check. If this does not help you, the laser pickup unit of your DVD player is faulty, and should be replaced with same type and number. OK.

I have an HD PVR (Explorer 8300) and have connected to my Samsung TV using HDMI cable. My question is can I connect my SONY STR DE605 receiver or do I need a new one?

Depending on your tv output, you shpuld be able to hook your TV to receiver via audio output. Running your video components through your receiver will not give you the best performance anyway. Run your HD DVR to TV the way you have it then, if it's possible to run audio out from TV, via, RCA, digital optical, etc., to your receiver. The sound will be transfered through the TV. You may also be able to utilize component out from your HD DVR and a separate audio cable.

Make sure your TV is on the right channel
Make sure your system is in Standby mode
Hold down the power button for 2 beeps (it will turn on and then off)
Turn on your console and everything should work normally

Your component cable is probably switched to the HD setting. You have to switch it back in order to get video when hooked up to a regular TV.
