Reset scanner

Please try this:
If the scanner's display locks up or does not work properly after you connect a power source, you might need to reset or initialize it. If you have problems with the scanner, first try to reset it to retain the memory. Warning: Initializing the scanner will clear all channel memories and reverts it the state it was in right out of the box.To Initialize the scanner, turn off the scanner then turn it back on. Press 0 when the welcome screen appears. 'Please select factory tests. Exit if no key is pressed' will briefly appear. Then quickly press 1. 'Initialization clear all memory Enter to confirm Clear to exit' will briefly appear. Quickly press ENT to initialize. 'Initializing, Please stand by' then appears. Do not turn off the scanner while it is initializing. The display should then show M000 on the top line and Bank 0 CH 00 when finished.

Hope that helps.

I cant reprogram the scanner. It is only in channel 6

To restore normal operation, try RESETTING the scanner:
- Power the scanner OFF, then power it ON again.
- Insert a pointed object, just as the end of a paperclip, into the RESET opening on the side of the scanner, then push the small button inside the opening.
-
In many cases, the RESET will restore operation. If not, you'll need to perform the more drastic INITIALIZE process. NOTE: INITIALIZE will erase all information that you've programmed into the scanner and restore it to original factory settings. To INITIALIZE the scanner:
- Power the scanner OFF, then power it ON again.
- While holding sown the TUNE/CLEAR key, press the RESET button as above. The scanner display should shut off.
- When the display turn on again, release the TUNE/CLEAR key.

I cleared my pro-82 scanner. Program button is not working to let me reprogram. Help.

As long as all frequencies have been cleared, try initializing the scanner. This will return everything to the original factory settings.

To INITIALIZE:
- Turn the scanner OFF, then switch it back ON.
- Hold down the TUNE/CLEAR button.
- While continuing to hold the TUNE/CLEAR button down, insert a pointed object such as a paperclip or the tip of a pen into the RESET opening on the side of the scanner, and press the RESET button inside the opening. The display should go blank.
- When the display comes back on, press the TUNE/CLEAR button again. The scanner should now be ready to accept programming.

Scanner problems Its stays on Auto-Scann and buttons dont work

Resetting or initializing the scanner may clear your problem.

To RESET the scanner:

- Turn the power OFF, then turn it ON again.
- Insert a pointed object (paper clip end, ballpoint pen tip, etc.) into the RESET opening on the side of the scanner, then press and release the button inside the opening.

If the above doesn't clear the problem, try the more drastic INITIALIZE procedure. NOTE: this step will erase all data that you have programmed into the scanner and restore it to original factory settings. To INITIALIZE the unit:

- Turn the scanner OFF then ON again. The scanner briefly displays the DSP boot version, then "Welcome to Digital Trunking" displays.
- Press "0". The scanner displays "System Tests Select Test Exits if no Key Press"
- Press "1". The scanner displays "Factory Unit Erase Memory ENTER if Yes CL to Exit"
- Press ENTER. The scanner displays "Initializing Clr Main Mem V-Scan is OK Please Wait"
- Do not power the scanner OFF until INITIALIZE is complete. When the process is complete the scanner will display "M0000" on the top line and "Bank 0 Ch 0" on the bottom line.

If neither of the above steps works for scanner I recommend that you take it to your nearest Radio shack and arrange certified repairs.
