I changed the filter once, could this be leaking and collect under freezer drawer and then freeze
Clean your coils. Then defrost ice build up with a hair dryer. Good luck!

OK, You need to unplug for a hour or so. Remove the rear panel in back of freezer to expose the evaporator coils. At the bottom of the evaporator there is a tray that catches the defrost water to take it through the back and down to the condensate tray located near compressor and condenser fan. Most likely you have ice or something trapped in that drain beginning in the freezer. I have heard some people turn the freezer temperatures so cold ice will form before the water can drain. sounds like a drain clog in the freezer compartment above. remove the freezer rear panel and totally defrost the evaporator area, directly under the evap you see( under all taht ice) a small drain hole that has become frozen over, try defrosting with either a hair dryer( not a heat gun too much heat youl melt everything) or by pouring hot water donw the drain until you get a free flow of water down the tube. after its clear reassemble and you should be fine

The problem with your refrigertor is that the defrost drain is plugged up. After you get the ice buildup out of the freezer section you will have to locate the drain system. It is in the back of the freezer at the very bottom.It needs to be cleaned out. Hope this at least leads you in the right direction.

If the water is showing on the freezer side, more than likely you have a clogged drain. This occurs when the machine goes into defrost and the melted ice somehow is prevented from draining and therefor refreezing and blocking the drain for the next defrost cycle. The best way to resolve this is to unplug the machine for atleast 24-48 hours to let all ice melt. Also note on the maytags these days they put a rubber piece called a duck bill on the bottom half of the drain which will also cause this over time. To access this piece you'll have to pull the machine from the wall and remove the lower panel and find the plastic drain and remove the duck bill
