SOURCE: Kohler K-9511-BN MasterShower Shower Arm & Diverter Doesn't Work

As a helpful hint , on these models, When installed some plumbers or home owners use plumbers putty to seal the threads and in some cases tape.
Most of the time the putty or tape gets pushed through the system if too much was used.
Check by removing the shower head and testing the pressure and blowing anything else through, then checking the head itself for foreign objects.
Kohler has a cleaning and care page on thier web site if it needs cleaned.

Fix porcher reprise shower diverter

Sounds like your diverter is defective. You need part #M962110-YYY0A
DIVERTER KIT. (replace your YYY with the color code of your shower)

This is an American Standard part, you can find it online (unfortunately expensive.)

Alternately, you can try calling American Standard and tell them you need the diverter WASHER for your unit. Maybe they'll send you a free one, and you can simply rebuild your diverter.

My American Standard R120 shower valve has excellent pressure on the cold side, no pressure on the hot side.

Could be a chunk of scale in the valve. Need to turn off water supply and take valve apart. If nothing is found, turn water supply on to give line a 'quick' flush and turn back off. If this does not help, you probably have an obstruction somewhere in the hot supply line and a plumber may be needed unless you are handy. Good luck.

My mira sport shower when switched on runs afew seconds and stops, then when switched off runs afew seconds then goes off. pls can someone advise. thank you

detach the hose from the shower head and clean the filter screen and do the same with the shower head. When you have the shower head detached turn the water on to the shower and see if anything comes out into a towel or bucket.

I have an American Standard shower that drips out the shower head. When other faucets are used in the bathroom the water pours. I replaced the cartridge put it still drips. What could be the problem?

Hi kwbaker!
Assuming the cartridge is new and the water drips at both hot and cold settings, I would check your shower head. It is not uncommon for debris to collect in the screening there and clog the spray nozzle.

To check the shower head you'll need to remove it from its piping. Use two tools--I normally use an adjustable wrench and a strap wrench--to hold the wall pipe and simultaneaously turn the shower head counter-clockwise. The cresecent wrench grabs the hex-head of the shower head, while the strap wrench holds the chromed piping without scratching it.

Be sure you don't lose the rubber washer inside the pipe-to-shower head connection!

Once the head is removed, look inside it at the pipe side. You should be able to see into the mechanicals of the shower head--very often I'll see bits of rust or scale. Oftentimes its enough to rinse the pipe side of the head under a sink; in extreme situations it can be easier to replace the entire shower head.

To replace the shower head, use two tools in the same manner in which the head was removed: crescent wrench to turn the shower head, strap wrench to hold supply piping. This time, however, turn the shower head clockwise until it tightens snug.

Hope this helps!

I'm trying to replace my shower head and am unable to remove the old one from the shower arm diverter, any help would be appreciated

use a crescent wrench on the shower head. If the head alone won't budge, the entire head plus arm will unscrew. Then just pick up a new arm and some teflon tape and reattach both. good luck
