Craneserv710,
I would need more information on if it has intermittent control of TV or satellite to provide the best information. I have listed some steps to try below for either situation!
Satellite:
If the remote has intermittent use on the satellite, ensure there is nothing that may be causing interference. For a TV1, this could be a fluorescent light, or a direct heat source blocking the IR signal. If it is a TV2, interference may be caused by a device that is powered on. You can try turning off equipment to see if interference is removed, or you can try moving the antenna on the back of the receiver. If it is sticking straight up, turn it parallel with the receiver. If it is laying flat, put it straight up.
Television:
If the intermittent control is for the TV functions, you may need to program a new code into the remote. There are multiple codes for a remote and some will work completely, while others only provide intermittent functions.
Let me know if you have any other questions, or if you can provide additional details! I'll be happy to assist you.

How to pair Westinghouse Remote RM-21 with Dish Network

I believe that dish has it's own type of remotes and the remote that you purchased is specifically compatible with your tv and not necessarily the Dish box. This would explain the difference in the code lengths. So, you would need to call dish and ask them what remote's are compatible with Dish. Thank you.

Sanyo TV Code for Dish remote 21.0 IR/UHF PRO only operates TV Power and Volume Functions.

Hello Witt Thomas,

I can understand the concern and wanting the remote to work the TV Menus. It is possible with our remotes, however it depends on the TV itself. I've seen instances where there are 2 TV's in one house, and 1 will do it, while the other won't.

If you have tried all of the remote codes, and none work, the only other options we have available are to try a powr scan, or teach the remote. This link http://www.mydish.com/support/teach-learning-remote-20-21 can provide the steps on how to teach that model of remote control!

Let me know if you have any other questions.

My box is receiving the feed intermittantly. is there a common cold solder joint problem?

Hello this is Nick Franta with DISH.

During the intermittent signal loss/freezing are any error messages popping up on your screen? From the information provided the best solution would be to unplug the receiver from the outlet for 10 seconds. Also try to press the up and down buttons on the receiver itself when its freezing to see if it allows you to change the channel. If this doesn't resolve the issue we would need to send you a replacement receiver. Let us know if you need any further help!

Have a new Vizio LCD tv , My Dish remote will not work only manual at the the box what wrong

Hello, Daniel Busa with Dish Network customer service. on those lcd tv's they will interfere with your remote. You have two solutions, you can turn off the back light feature in the tv menu, or you can set the remote to a uhf frequency which will probably require a new remote.

Remote Problem

Remote codes are programmed into the remote at time of and since the TV was manufactured after the remote it will be unable to have the code as TV manufacturers change codes often. You can try having a 20 or 21 remote sent to you but ensure it will work with your receiver. These remotes are programmable and ar able to learn functions of other remotes. Thanks for using Fix Ya.

I get 110 direct to receiver or 119 direct to receiver (dish 500) but when I use the sw21 switch I only get one

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. As per the issue you described, I think you are not able to switch to Channel 21. It means that it has either been deleted from the projection TV or you have set the parental control guides. To correct the former, access the Channel controls by pushing the "Menu" button and maneuver the channel icon, then press "+". Select "Favorite Channels," and then the "+" button again. Then type the number of the channel (21) you are not able to watch and press the "+" button one last time. To access the parental control channels, press "Menu" and maneuver the Parent icon, and press "+." Enter your four-digit password and use the arrows on the remote to change the overall settings. After performing this procedure hit the "+" key one more time. Now you will be able to watch channel 21 as before.

Please tell me the model number of your Unit so that I can provide you with model specific information.

Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee

Dish network UHF remote works intermittently.

If you extend the small antenna that is on the back of the receiver by using a short cable and a barrel connector to get the antenna out of the entertainment center or out from the TV this will help alot
