Very common problem. You need to call a
duct cleaning company and tell them to clean
your dryer vent. Rule-of-thumb: dryer vents
should be cleaned every couple of years to
prevent them from being clogged with lint and
causing lint fires. This is definitely your problem. Good luck :)

p.s. one way to verify a clogged vent is
to go outside where the vent exits the house
and feel the air-flow. should have adequate air-flow.

Kenmore 70 series dryer 110.96573220 only heats on time dry and delicate, not on normal

I would check the temp switch located in the console panel, sounds lile maybe the contact is burned since you have heat on delicate and timeddry.

We have a Kenmore 400 Series dryer. It heats up but our clothes is not getting dry. We have to cycle it twice to get our clothes dry on high heat. Any idea why it would take 2 cycles to dry?

This was the out vent of my dryer... If it gets this bad... open up the dryer housing and clean inside too. Also make sure the intake is free of lint.

My Kenmore 400 series is taking too long to dry

Make sure the vent and tube are clear and not blocked in any way, if clear try washing off the lint screen with hot water, softener will clog the filter
and not allow proper air flow, water will bead up on screen if this is true

Kenmore 70 Series

You probably have an open thermal fuse, the dryer will run in some cases and not heat, Just moving air across you clothes will dry them however it takes forever.

If you are electrical or mechanical replace the thermal fuse yourself if not call someone you trust, you can purchase thermal fuses on line from Sears.com just do a parts search for you specific dryer.
