Question about Toshiba Satellite A105-S4004 Notebook
I had the same problem! replaced both the inverter board and the lcd panel ! Unfortunaly the problems is still there..
has somebody any solutions ??

I have a toshiba satellite laptop. the mouse pad on it used to light up but stopped before i got it. is there a driver or something i can get to remedy this problems? the mouse pad still works it just doesn't light up. My sister says it happened when she loaded a program and deleted a couple of things.

Hi, I would assume that you have tried the Fn +F keys to increase brightness, if yes then it is very likely that you have a problem with the backlight (or CCF) which provides the background illumination. This can be caused by either defective tube or inverter circuitry powering the same tube. If you can still see the images but very very faintly, it is still reasonably repairable. This would call for the opening of the display panel of your laptop and determining which of the two are defective and replacing them. Either is available by mailorder and normally should be relatively easy to replace since most design do not require any soldering but are connected by plug-in connectors. However, if you are not comfortable opening the display panel and or tinkering with electronic devices, you might be better off seeking the services of a qualified professional.
