This will be determined by the tuner, the antenna location (indoor, outdoor, elevation), distance from the transmitter, and any splitters or other wiring problems. I've seen failed amplified splitters turn into filters that block the incoming signal from reaching the TV.

there are 2 stk392-120 chips mounted to a large heat sink. both are bad, also 6.8 ohm 1/4 watt resistors are bad . need ohm meter top check these.

The problem can be in the backlight inverter board (hard to get to), or the main power supply module may not be working. Look at the power supply first since it is easy to get to, look for burnt parts, bad capacitors.
