SOURCE: ink wont transfer to sticker on a 4420 intermec

Make sure the "carbon" is down so that it gets transfer to the top of the label. I can check this by just scratching it with your fingernail and it should rub off. If you are sure you have the media loaded correctly and the ribbon and label are a compatible match then you might just need to increase the heat or darkness setting on the printer. Some ribbons require a higher heat setting to transfer the carbon.

Make sure that the label is not larger than the printable area, carriage returns and spaces count as part of the label too. Also make sure that in the printer properties you didn't set the page width wider or higher than the actual label. Especially using MS Word, you may have to adjust the label slightly smaller to compensate for margin, header, and footer settings. Also be careful of mail merges which merge data larger than the viewable area on the label.

SOURCE: Intermec 3400E: Label prints

Hi

There are three common causes for this problem:

o An incompatible printer driver.

o The paper source is set incorrectly on a dot matrix printer.

o A custom label Down Page or Page Length setting is incorrect.

The resolution for each problem is listed below. Incompatible Printer Driver.
Contact the printer manufacturer to obtain the latest version of the driver for your printer. As an alternative, see your printer documentation for other printer models that your printer can emulate. Then, install the printer driver for one of those models.
For information about installing printer driver software in Microsoft Windows, see your Windows printed documentation or online help.
Paper Source Set Incorrectly on a Printer

1. On the File menu in Works, click Page Setup.

2. In the Page Setup dialog box, click the Source, Size, And Orientation tab.

3. Select the correct option in Paper Source. For example, if the Paper Source is set to Manual Feed and you are using tractor fed labels, change the Paper Source setting to Tractor Feed.

4. Click OK.

Custom Label Settings are Incorrect

5. Open the Word Processor label document in Works.

6. On the Tools menu, click Envelopes And Labels.

7. Click Custom Label.

8. Make sure the Down Page text box correctly reflects the number of rows of labels on the page you are using. Click OK.

9. Make sure the Page Length text box correctly reflects the length of the page you are using.

10. Click OK. Click Change Label.

I think parallel port issues. Assuming your fastest printer connected to onboard parallel port. connect slow printer on pci2parallel port.

We have 2 Intermec 4420 printers. We printed the same label out on both printers. Our scanner reads one but won't read the label from other printter. Why do you think this is happening?
