You can install the SOM (Smart Organizing Monitor), it is a utility which can check the status of a printer and set up a printer
from a PC. This utility is executed from a printer driver.

Start the SOM to see the status of your printer..

Most of the time when I find this happening on a printer, not just Ricoh's it turns out to be the PCU (photo conductor unit). The color PCU is one unit and the black is a seperate unit. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: ricoh aficio cl3500n reads replace colr pcu what is this?

The PCU is the photconductor unit. There is a black pcu and a color pcu. Did you replace these or replace the toner cartridges??

It sounds like the part the toner bottle slides under to lock in place is broken. you could try and fold some paper and tape it to the toner to hold it down.

How to reset replacement required print cartridge ricoh sp 3510/3500

"Replace Print Cartridge" remains in
display. Then a new AIO cartridge must
be installed. This feature is a safety
measure to prevent the used toner tank
from becoming full (there is no toner
overflow detection mechanism).

Red lights on printer.... all lights are red on my sp c221n printer

Had this problem to this morning. Searched the internet w/ no results, but was able to solve it.

Seems that all the lights on meant there was a problem with all the fusers. This is a list of what I did. I don't know how much of it is necessary, but hoefully it helps.

I took them all out, let it sit for a while.

Restarted it.

Might have opened and closed the cover a few times.

Fixed another printer.

Came back to it, and first put in the black fuser, and closed the lid. After doing this the black fuser's light went off. O

One by one I opened the lid, put in another fuser, closed it, and it detected them.

Once they were all in it worked again.
