My phone was acting perfectly fine. I left it on the kitchen table for a few minutes, then realized that it needed to be charged. I put it on the charger and I could not unlock my phone because the touch screen stopped working. I tried turning it off, but I could not touch the 'Power Off' selection because my screen stopped working. I took the battery out several times and turned it back on and it still was not working.
SOURCE: my LG lotus won't turn on.
Mine started doing the same thing yesterday. In doing a bit of research I found on the LG support forums that the phone is probably fried. The good news is that it's covered under the 1 year manufacturers warrenty and can be returned to the sprint store, or your carrier and they will replace it on site. I've already talked to Sprint and they said as long as there's no water damage or other visable signs of shock that would have caused the damage that they'll provide me with a new phone. This was a huge relief to me, I loved this phone before it went batty and really can't afford a new one.
Hope it works out for you as well.
SOURCE: Won't Turn On/Charge
when that happened to me it could have been caused by two possible problems:
1) water damage. If you know it's not water damage, it still could be because if you had your phone in the bathroom while having a shower, steam can seep in and if it's one thing I noticed about chocolate flips they get water damage really easily.
------>>> If that is the case then you have to take your battery off and take a really fine ground sand paper and rub along the contacts (like the copper that is on the battery and the phone that touch when you put ur battery in) and that will rub off any kind of oxidization (rust) and possibly make your phone work. It happened to mine and I did that and it was successful
2) you could not be turning your phone off regularly enough. Technically, you are supposed to turn your phone off every night when you go to bed to give your battery time to re-vamp. Also, I was speaking with a rep from telus and they were saying that you should also turn your phone off during the day, just for a minute then turn it back on again and apparently it recharges the battery as well.
Hope this helps!! It only comes from personal experience so it all depends on the reason why it's doing that.
SOURCE: LG VU screen doesn't work after water damage
I was cleaning the pool when my LG Vu took a dive. I fished it out in about 2 minutes...should have jumped in and it would have been in only seconds.....anyway. Dried it off with my shirt and pushed the lock button to unlock and see the screen...it was on but said Emergency Download. I took the battery out and dried it off also took out the SIM card and memory card. Shook the water out; some drips here and there, fortunately it wasn't water-logged. I let it sit for about an hour and got on the internet to find a remedy. I took advice to put back the memory and SIM cards and plug in to charger....the screen directed me to put in the battery....so far so good. The screen said the battery was charging. I waited patiently for that to finish. When complete, unhooked the charger and hit the unlock button again....what do you know the screen came up! I was estatic! But....the touch screen would not work!! Back on the internet for advice. Decided to do the hair dryer trick. I set the dryer on cool setting and let it blow on the screen. I also opened up the chargers portal and let air blow in there. I took the cover off the back to the battery and let it blow on there....being very careful not to let the battery fall out and not let the phone get hot. I did this for about 30 minutes. There was some fogging of the screen so I focused more on drying the screen with the dryer. The fog cleared up and when I touched the touch screen the top of the screen started working first...bottom still not responding...a little more of the dryer and all worked!!! Screen fogged again in about 20 minutes...dryed it again with dryer and it has been dry ever since. I have gone to every application, etc. on my phone and everything works just like it did before it took a dip! Hope this helps some of you! Key is patience, and some drying with TLC! Best of Luck!
SOURCE: LG EnV Touch resetting itself.
Check your firmware version. Settings and Tools > Phone Info > SW/HW Version and check the SW Version.
The resetting itself problem appears to be an issue with VX11KV04. The previous version doesn't have those problems (I have the issues, but my fiance doesn't with his. His phone is on version 3, mine is on 4. A bit of searching on the verizon forums confirms that others are having the same issues with this firmware version.
