If the MP3 player battery is more than 3 - 4 years old then the battery could be worn out. Rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cycles and will lose their charge capacity over time, i.e. won't charge to 100% and gradually the charge reduces until the battery won't charge up at all. OR The battery shows a 100% charge but when the adapter is disconnected the battery drops off to zero capacity in a very short time. If the battery drops to an unacceptable charge level then the battery needs to be replaced. Rechargeable batteries will fail if stored in a discharged state for long periods.

I'm afraid once you lose the charge on a battery there is really no way to get it back. however you can replace the battery or have the apple support people replace it, but other than that there is really no way to regain the lost charge.

find a reputable battery shop ( not repco , supa cheap type shops )and discuss your requirements with them
go for calcium batteries or the like for long life as battery construction has changed a lot in the last few years
remember the bigger capacity battery , the longer it will run items so don't settle for a small battery when a larger ( if it will fit ) battery will be a better buy
warranty is 12 months standard up to 3 years but the price goes up for the warranty period

batteries last up to 3 years and from e-bay are a fraction of that price
as for time in use should be at least 1 hour for a good battery
it is vital that after use you return the phone to the charge cradle
ensure that charger is operational

Time to change the batteries. Open the UPS and get the battery type numbers and spec written on the batteries. Locate a local battery distributor and you can order batteries. APC uses industry batteries.

The batteries last an average of 2 to 3 years. They wear out inside. You can also order APC original batteries if you feel insecure about purchasing them from a battery dealer. APC will charge more for the batteries, but they will be original to the UPS type.

All batteries run out of power real quick. I can only shoot 20 pictures with a brand new set of batteries with my EX-FH20. Both alkaline and NIMH batteries die within minutes

What you need is HIGH RATING cells and so try and get NI-MH with rating over 2000mA or a higher grade along with a good rechargable unit and your cells will last longer than using low type cells.

I HAVE A 2008 KINGPIN AND IT EATS BATTERIES. A NEW ONE EVERY YEAR. IS THIS NORMAL. ALSO THE BATTERIES ARE REALLY EXPENSIVE. WHAT TYPE OF BATTERY DO YOU RECOMMEND.

Make sure your battery spec is 12V/18 amp hours. If you can fit a slightly higher amperage battery into the space, then the longer the battery should last. The Kingpin can charge 38Amps maximum.

You could also change the brand of battery IF you have bought the same over the last two/three years. Some batteries are inferior to heavy starts, even though they look fine.

Starting a 1634cc engine cold takes a lot of current. Each start, damages the battery ever so slightly, ending up in failure. Also check that there isn't any heating issues between engine/exhaust and battery case. Hot batteries die fast!

Most likely, you have damaged the circuit board from using it directly from the cord for so long and not changing the batteries when they were needed. The fact that the chatging light no longer illuminates tells me that this is probably the case. However, it is possible that only the batteries are bad. It is pretty hard to tell which it is without installing new batteries though. If you want to try new batteries, you will find the correct type at shaveroutlet.com.

I would like to know why by battery on my new lap does not lasttoo much longer than 30 minutes. I would think that this is a very short time.

HI there,
30 minutes is not long. I've got a few questions for you:
1. When you first booted up your computer, did you leave your battery connected for at least 24 hours? If not, please do so as these type of batteries tend to have a cell memory even though they say on the retail box that it does not.
2. Do you leave the power supply connected to your laptop more than 5 hours when you use it? If the battery is fully charged and still connected, the cells will stay active and end up dying faster than usual. When your battery is fully charged, do not connect your power supply to your computer.
3. What kind of programs do you run on your computer? The standard last time listed on the package is usually when using your computer for business type operations (Microsoft Office, etc.). If you use your computer for gaming, the battery will not last as long. If your alpha is also maxed out, your battery will not last long. The tip I have for this is to go in your User Control Panel and to go click on the Battery Icon. Select the recommended power usage and click apply. This will help keep your battery alive longer.

Battery will no longer hold charge

Get a new battery.

Just like on my cell phone, if I go a long time with it, it goes dead faster, for example the first day I got it would last at least a couple days, now it lasts maybe 10 hours, or so.

Buy a new battery.

Time to replace the battery already?

Don't know about life on your unit but most run 3 hours plus, depending on the unit. I have one that does 3 and another that is supposed to do longer. You might pull your cf card and charge the battery and run the unit for the ten minutes and see if it will last. It could be that it is drawing a lot too much power. Now, this MIGHT give you indication of whether it is the battery or the unit itself, but don't know for sure. To run it down from a full charge in that short a time should make the battery quite warm so if you can get to the battery run it down and feel it to see if it is getting hot. If it is there is probably something wrong in the unit. If the battery isn't getting hot then I would say it could be a bad battery or it could still be the unit itself. If the unit works okay on the charger, I'd guess it is the battery. Cheap batteries - just look around and call around. We have a company called batteries plus here that has all sorts of odd batteries. You might check radio shack as well, they might have something that would fit.
