Are you sure you have turned the foot button underneath the machine back to normal stiching and also then again for embroidary and have you placed the protective cover back for normal stiching once you removed the embroidary arm.

try changing the needle--make sure the needle is correct for the fabric clean under the needle plate & in the bobbin area for lint or loose threads if it keeps jamming up & making noises I suggest to have the machine serviced
The needle thread breaks
1. the needle thread is not threaded properly
2. The needle thread tension is to tight
3. The needle is bent or blunt
4. The needle is incorrectly inserted
5. The needle thread & the bobbin thread are not set under the presser foot when starting to sew
6. the threads were not drawn to the rear after sewing
7. The thread is either to heavy or to fine for the needle
in case you can't get one from a user here,, you can get one I believe from here http://blog.jennys-sewing-studio.com/?cat=34 which includes all the updates that your machine requires,, I don't know of the cost ,, but didn't want to leave you completely stranded,,
If it is like one of the machines I have, you can set it to do mending and embroidery so that the feed dogs to not advance the material. If so, there should be a dial that allows you to re-set it so the feed dogs are not depressed. Hope this helps.
Sad to say you might have to do an indept check. Like start with a small peice of fabric - start with the highest bobbin tension and go to the lowest - leaving the top tension the same. Write all the findings. Then do it all again with the next top tension. Keep your 'good' findings in a little notepad in your sewing box. Then you will have it all ready for any other project. Good luck!
Dear Magarita, The safety device is activated when thread gets entangled around the bobbin case. First check by removing the plastic see-through plate. If necessary remove the 2 scews on the metal needle plate and remove the bobbin case completely. Put it back and test by turning the handwheel. It should turn freely.
