How do you remove the Metris S wideset faucet handle?

There are a lot of mineral deposits under the faucet handles and they are very difficult to turn. When you turn them now the entire handle and base (that should be secured to the countertop) spins

To remove the handle simply rotate the escutcheon counter clockwise and it will unthread from the fixation on top of the counter. Then the handle will lift off as one unit. You can clean them with CLR to clear up water deposits. If you need further instructions feel free to contact me Hansgrohe Tech 1-800-334-0455 press 2 for Technical and ask for David Scarborough. I'll be happy to help.

The cold water handle of my two handles Starck faucet leaks when turning either the cold or the hot water. How can I remove the handle? There are no visible screws nor plugs. Thank you.

I assume you are referring to the Hangrohe. https://images.homedepot-static.com/catalog/pdfimages/a7/a79e5618-65fc-4e21-9a59-dd8bcc4773aa.pdf
It appears there are detents that hold the handle so push ON and pull OFF. Firm grip and pull should remove the handle. Although, if yours has leaked for weeks/months, corrosion/deposits under handle may make it difficult. If coldle hand doesn't budge, try removing the hot as it has not been leaking and may pop off with less effort. Then go after the other. Note; you may as well replace both cartridges.

Hansgrohe axor faucet jammed

On this model the escutcheons will turn counter clockwise and the whole handle will lift off as one unit. In some cases water deposits can cause the handle to stick and you may need to use CLR to lossen the deposits. In some other cases installers will put the handle on first and then tighten the valve to the deck. This causes the handle to be too tight to the deck and can strip the handle fixation. Try loosening the the valve set below the handle and see if the handle is easier to remove once the valve is loosened. Stiff cold water handle bathroom Hansgrohe

If the handle is hard to turn it is most commonly caused by water deposits in the handle or in the cartridge below. I would try removing the handle to ensure it turns freely when not installed on the faucet. If not you can clean it with CLR to remove the water deposits that are making it difficult to turn. If the handle turns freely when not installed you will need to remove the cartridge and inspect it to ensure it is not broken or damaged in any way. There could be debris in the cartrige that has either made it hard to turn or broken the ceramic disks. Our handles are easily removed by turning the bell shaped ecutcheon below the lever or cross handle. There are not set screws that hold them on. If you need further information feel free to call me at 1-800-334-0455. Press 2 for tech and ask for David Scarborough.

Can't get both hot water running at the same time. Delta Shower faucet

  • The spool and sleeve, the part of the Scald-Guard pressure balance valve that blends the hot and cold water, is not working properly. This can is caused by mineral deposits that build up over time resulting from hard water. To fix this, follow the steps below based on your model.
  1. Shut off water supply.
  2. There are two types of valves. Choose one or the other below depending on your series.
  • 1300-1400 Series: Remove handle.
  • 1700-1800 Series: Remove temperature knob, cover and handle.
  1. Twist and pull sleeve to remove it.
  2. Unscrew brass bonnet nut.
  3. Remove cartridge.
  4. Soak cartridge in a 50/50 vinegar and water solution for 24 hours to remove any mineral deposits.
  • **NOTE** Unless both hot and cold water supplies are turned on, the pressure balance valve will allow only a dribble of water to flow through the valve.
  • I have put up a picture to make disassembling it just that much easier for you.

I have changed the cartridge on a single handle Moen faucet and now have a hot water leak how do I correct this?

I would remove cartridge and see if you might have a bit of rust or mineral deposit caught in the hot side ports of the cartridge. If so clean and use medium grit sandpaper to smooth inside surface of valve. If you used a plastic replacement cartridge I would get a brass one. I have had nothing but bad luck with the plastic ones. Good luck and thank you.

Dripping facet

If a faucet is leaking the necessary repair will be either:
1. For a ceramic or washerless faucet, replace the cartridge.
2. For a typical old fashioned faucet, open the faucet, replace the washer (and packing if it has any) and verify that the faucet seat has not eroded.
The newer washerless faucets cannot be repaired except by replacing the cartridge. Cartridges for most common faucets are available at most home improvement stores or plumbing supply houses.
It sounds a lot more difficult than it really is, just shut off the water (usually a shut off valve under the sink). After the water is off, remove the handle and any chrome protective covering. Depending on the faucet type, it may be a little difficult to remove the cartridge since they are often covered with mineral build-up or corroded into place.
Once you remove the old cartridge the new one usually goes into place easily.
NOTE!!!
For single handle faucets, make sure you put it in the right way, some of them will put the hot to the wrong side if you put them together backward.

Have a pfizer three piece faucet and the handle all the sudden is getting hard to move.

When the cartridge starts to fail it becomes hard to move like that.
Turn off the water under the sink, then remove the cartridge out of the center of the assembly. Depending on the valve system, you may need to get the proper tool.
It's a relatively simple process, but sometimes the cartridges become trapped into place with mineral deposits from the water. Just work with it a while and it will eventually come out and the new cartridge generally slips right into place.
Good luck.
