Question about Compaq (12XL310) PC Notebook
I am having Compaq presario 12xl222 notebook. While booting the ctrl key is automatically pressed and the shortcut is activated while working with ms-office. Sometimes it is working properly and sometimes it showing this type of problem. While opening ms-word a messege box displaying the messege that " word has detected that ctrl key is pressed. Are you want to open in safe mode?". The is is responding properly when it is not automatically activated. Please solve my problem at your earliest.
I had the same problem and now it is solved... just download KEYTWEAK software and disable ur ctrl keys...

First make sure that the keyboard is ok, you can press the ctrl key and compare with the feeling when press other keys, to see if there is different, may be some thing stuck there, if there is no problem, check the driver is installed correct, you can get the keyboard type from the check list of the computer or contact with the supplyer, and install a correct driver

Try pressing both the left and right CTRL keys at the same time and
see if that releases CTRL.
Go to Start / Settings / Control Panel / Accessibility Options /
Turn off CTRL lock if it's on.
If that solves it and to avoid future problems, press "Settings"
Turn off "Press modifier key twice to lock".
Turn on "Turn sticky keys off if 2 keys are pressed at once".
Or turn off "Use shortcut"
Clean your keyboard.
