While travelling, I inadvertantly switched my cell phone charger with the iriver charger portion. Cell phone works fine but iriver will not turn on. When I plug in the correct charger to the iriver, the light goes on for a moment and then turns off. If I plug the iriver into the USB port of the computer and try to turn on the iriver, it remains black but the charger light stays lit, indicating power is there. The cell phone charger was of a lower (voltage?) so I'm assuming that I didn't burn anything out. Any possible fix for this or DID I fry something and its hopeless? Thanks for any help/suggestions you can provide. (I did e-mail [email protected] but haven't heard back yet.)
Sounds like incorrect charging voltage and amperage may have fried some of your components.
Could try selling it on ebay as-is to make some money toward another unit.
You can get a top notch 20gb refurb unit from ebay sellers (like metromania) for $40-60. I have 2 refurbs and 1 built from parts from as-is units.
