The reason our Asko D3250 had this problem was because of a leak. The pump hose (approx. 2" black rubber hose - find it here http://www.repairclinic.com/PartDetail/Pump-Hose/8801409/1810263) was split, causing a leak and the blinking heavy wash light. The sensor did its job and picked up the leak.
If you're handy you don't necessarily need to call a repairman in to accomplish the work. You don't need to pull the front of the dishwasher apart. Unplug the power to the dishwasher. Take off the back bottom panel. Next, test where the leak is coming from. Place pans below the holes found on the bottom of the dishwasher. They are visible when removing the back panel and are most likely at the rear of the dishwasher. Plug the power back in then start the dishwasher. If your problem is a leak, you will easily spot it with a flashlight. After ordering and installing your part, make sure to dry all water that has settled in the bottom of the dishwasher. You can easily accomplish this through the back of the dishwasher with the panel removed. If it's still damp the sensor will continue to detect water. Once dry, start the cycle to make sure there are no more leaks before reinstalling the panel.

SOURCE: washes but wont shut off,

It is possible that the machine does not start off the cycle because there are errors or back feedback from the inputs. For the program to start up the main program controller must initiate the INLET valve to open up and allow water to flow into. If this does not happen then the voltage at the inlet valve must be checked or the fault relates to no voltage from the controller. This means the controller is a suspect.

If the water flows then the flow should be good, if not the inlet valve is bad or there is dirt in the filter. Also check the flow at the inlet of the water line. What is most important for the motor to start functioning is that the door switch must be ON when the door is shut or this will be an error for starting the motor .

Finally after the wash the drain valve will be activated, the water is allowed to come in to rinse and then finally the drain valve/pump activated so as to drain off all the water .

Make sure that a fault in any of the cycle will relate to the specified action, so check the command from the program module and then the executing device be it the valve or motor or pump.

Door wont open on washing machine zwf16581w at the end of the cycle

The door is designed to stay shut at the end of a cycle usually for about 4 minutes, even if you switch the machine off at the mains. Other than that you probably need a repair.

Maytag maxima door locked

Similar problem here - pump was set for a 58 minute normal cycle, I look in and see it is now showing 67. Hmm. Attempt to shut it off because it is just sitting there pumping and pumping. Power shuts off but pump keeps running and add garment light flashing red. Cannot open door (to add garment or not) Unplug the unit and the door will not open. Anybody got a clue what's up? I have a wash in, service is closed due to a storm today. Just bugs me that it is 6 months old and seems to act up a fair bit electronically.

The on/off switch light only flashed for an instant when appliance plugged into mains then no lights work programs wont start, i hve checked power through the mains lead and there is power into the machine...

It is possible that the machine does not start off the cycle because there are errors or feedback from the inputs. For the program to start up the main program controller must initiate the INLET/MOTOR/DRAIN pump/ valve to open up and allow each function to be driven from the flow into the drum as also the drain valve to open to exit the water at the point of the program cycle. If this does not happen then the voltage at the valve/motor/pump must be checked or the fault relates to no voltage from the controller. This means the controller is a suspect.

If the water flows then the flow should be good, if not the inlet valve is bad or there is dirt in the filter. Also check the flow at the inlet of the water line. Once the water comes into the system the WATER LEVEL SENSOR - normally a pressure switch- must activate at the preset/chosen level to give the signal to the program controller to switch on the motor. What is most important for the motor to start functioning is that the door switch must be ON when the door is shut or this will be an error for starting the motor for rinse and wash.

Finally after the wash the drain valve will be activated, the water is allowed to come in to rinse and then finally the dry spin with the drain valve/pump activated so as to drain off all the water from the clothes during the spin.

Make sure that a fault in any of the cycle will relate to the specified action, so check the command from the program module and then the executing device be it the valve or motor or pump.
