Angela, Menu, Settings, Language & keyboard, Touch Input, Text Input, under Finger touch precision, choose Calibration tool or even Reset calibration.
If you have the app, yes you can calibrate touch screen.

I'm assuming that it thinks it needs to be calibrated. Have you went thru the motions of calibration with it yet? If not, well follow the instructions and you will be done in no-time.
Whoever used the term "calibrating an iPad" may have been referring to touch screen calibration.
Some touch screens need to be adjusted, or "calibrated", or the device may act as if you touched a different spot on the screen than you did. The iPad screen does not need to be calibrated. If the iPad make a mistake about what spot you touched, the error may be due to:
a defect or damage;
a screen protector;
a cold finger;
a hand that is holding the iPad and inadvertently touching the screen;
a finger that is inadvertently touching the screen.
