No, that printer only uses the 21 Black and 22 color cartridges. The best thing to do when you run out of ink is to buy a refill kit and then refill each cartridge at home. This saves lots of money in the long run. Click on the link below to view a refill kit for your HP D1460:
the most important is to remove all the air from the cartridge that has left inside durring refilling that is why professionals are using special machines that refill in 0 air πρεσυρε using vaccum pump
you can check here a video on how to refill with out any special equipment
By using refilled cartridges you will always have this problem. Each cartridge has a chip that lets the printer know when it is full or empty. By pressing the ok button you may be able to clear this message. However, most of the time you can still be able to print and ignore the message.
here you can find instruction on video for the black http://inkfilling.net/instructions-on-how-to-refill-hp-21-c9351a.html and for your colol cartridge

it depends all small hp cartridge use second generation ink and you can find a multi kit like this http://inkfilling.net/start-pack-a-hp.html you can use it for all small Hp cartridges
If your refill kit contans a hypodermic needle you drill a small hole in the top of the cartridge and slowly inject the ink into the cartridges.I find it easier to remove them and do it over the sink as it can be quite messy. You place a piece of tape over the hole after refilling. If you wait too long and remove to much ink from the cartridge,it will not reset and it wil still show it as empty. Their is no way that I know of to reset one that becomes too emply w/o the specilized electronic equiptment.
refilling the cartridges is NOT recommended for your HP.
If you refill them and something happens, HP will void your warranty.
Go back to where you got the printer and tell them.
The cartridges that came with it should of lasted you a lot longer.
