No TV Sylvania 6427TE 27" - Son was trying to turn down the volume and pushed the menu button - not sure what he did, yet now there is no channels, no volume and no tv. Do not have cable, yet was able to watch dvd's and play video games. Now nothing.......

Let the channel scan complete fully. This just needs to be done once for antenna channels and once if you use cable. Should take about 5 minutes to complete, but if u must interrupt or exit, press menu, or power to turn off TV. Make sure the tv's tuner setting is set appropriately for either cable or air (antenna), depending on your way of receiving channels, so it scans and finds properly.

you can try to see if sylvania's website might have the manual. If they dont you can always reach the menu options from the controls on the tv some tvs have a menu button but some you have to push the volume up and down button at the same time,hope this helps good luck!

hmm could that be a "sylvania 6427 gff".. i have seen a suffix of FF, GFF and GFG ... but not TE ... at any rate those are actually CRT displays .. probably the last of their kind ... they produce a really good but standard defination picture ... when you first turn it on it should come up with a setup menu ... if the cable is connecgted at the time it should find at least a few digital channels ..probably no standard channels ...most of those models do have standard and digital tuners but not sure about your TE model ...you might try unplugging your set for a few hours ... when you turn it back on it should come up with the menu system ...you will likely need a cable box to get most of the cable channels... but you may be able to get some ..you could try hookinng up rabbit ear antenna to see what local channels you can get ....

is there a TV/Video or menu button on the front of the tv? if so try the tv/video button, that should scroll through the the components you have on your tv. dvd, game cable etc. If no tv/video, hit the menu button and then use either channel up/down or volume up/down to scroll through your component options.

They do not say how to select Video or Game mode without the remote. Try connecting a vcr or game to the input and do the Channel Pre-Select process to see if that will pick up the input as part of the Channel Scan. If it does you will be able to get to Game or Video using the channel up/down buttons. Another option is to get a replacement universal remote that has a code for your TV and will assign a button for Game or Video.

You are in PIP Picture in picture mode. Turn the PIP option off.

Go to the TV setup menu and look for the V-Chip settings. Turn it off altogether or if you have children you may want to just raise the block up to MA, R, or X rated programs

if you have dish network then all you have to do is press the button that says TV then press the button that says TV Video.

is there a cc button on your remote hand unit.if not its in the setup menu .
