After trying to sew a piece of vinyl to a piece of fleece (apparently, vinyl is too thick for this simple machine?), it appears a belt has come loose inside the machine.
I'm getting it fixed at a repair shop ($40 to reattach the belt) and would like to know how to fix it myself in the future. It seems silly to pay almost 1/2 or more of the purchase price after using the machine only a few times.
How can I reattach the belt on my own?
How to replace belt
Well that is very nice idea you can fix with your self provide talls most commonly use.Set of screw driver, open and socket wrench, pliers etc...Remove the top cover plate by loosening bolt holding the cover and cover besides the handwheel where the motor was installed besure it was unplug from ac source(No power)Check the motor holder that attaching from casing. You can see the motor coupled by the belt.In the motor holder there is a bolt slot adjustment for tensioning belt tighning and loosening. If you want to disconnect the belt and replaced loosen the tension and pull out the belt.Sometime belt are sliping to the pulley it affect
the sewing machine operation, you can tighten from adjusting the tension of the belt.adjust not so tight after adjusting try to run manually first by turning handwheel freely if the motor will run freely with out obtruction no power supply. If your satiesfied try to run with power supply but jag twice first to be sure no problem occured before continous operation.
