During the spin/rinse cycle, my Whirlpool Washer will spin but there is a whinning noise also. No error codes, so far just a noise. It drains fine and spins fine. The noise sounds like it is coming from the area where you put in the detergent. When you remove the tray, the noise is louder.
In the bottom of the washer take 2 screws out take panel off and there should be a round screw off tube make sure something is under to catch water needs cleaned out might have few change in it.. look in your users manual for a catcher to clean cant remember name
Open top cover (two or three screws on rear and slide back) and look at rear of tub checking clearance to rear panel and nothing touching belt or pulley. whirlpools tend to have a high pitch low volume whine anytime motor operates.
you really dont want to replace that bearing. part of tub assm. $400 part plus labor

My Duet seems to have the same issue. There really is no excessive vibration but a very loud noise in the spin cycle. Sounds like metal on metal during the spin cycle. We've had the washer for about 2yrs. Could it be bearing that has gone out?
