Radio worked fine for many months then all of a sudden shut off. No power can't get it to work. Red light in upper right corner is on but nothing else. Any suggestions?
thanks
The unit was installed in my wife's car for 16 months. It worked fine. Then the it started having difficulty switching from source to source. You could press the button but the source wouldn't change. Then it started losing power all together. The unit was installed in my wife's car for 16 months. It worked fine. Get the harness for your car. Any local stereo shop will have it. Also pick up the dash mounting kit. It will have the instructions to take your dash apart.
There was probably a bad connection to the power supply. There are three wires. RED is battery(12 volts at all times)YELLOW or ORANGE is acc.(12 volts when key is in acc position) BLACK is ground(connected to any metal part of the car). Pull out the stereo and make redo these connection and makes sure they are right this time.
Sounds like you're not getting voltage on the accessory power lead. This is the red wire at the back of the deck, and it supplies power whenever the key is switched on. It's possible that your vehicle's radio fuse is blown.
