Ventrilo static weird occurance

Basically in ventrilo with my guild in WoW when one of my friends talk all I hear is static, some of us hear him well and some of us don't for some reason.

My friends hear him okay while other of my friends and me only hear statics and it only happens to him, what could be the problem?

First, make sure your mike/headphones are plugged in all the way to the correct jack port.

Then, re-download and install vent.

Also, go to "setup" in vent, then make sure the inbound and outbound are either set higher or lower than the default.

Is there something special I need to do to get the

Shouldn't need drivers for this. Open System Preferences, which can be found in the Utilities folder, if it is not already on your Dock. It looks like a light switch with an apple logo on it. From there select Sound, under the hardware section. Click output, select the headphones, select Click input, again select the headphone/mic set. If it is not on the list, then so sorry, i was wrong, you need drivers, which you should be able to get from the altec lansing site.

If this is set and you still cant here, please let me know what system he is using. Is it the in game one from WoW? Ventrilo? If vent he will need the server data etc. from his guild or friend he is trying to speak with. If it is the in game one, just tell him to follow the in game instructions, they are fairly straight forward.

Can hear everything except my girlfriend ):

Is it through an IM program? If so I had a simular problem and I open the sound settings and made sure non of them were muted and it worked fine after that.

Did you ever figure out what was wrong. Mine is doing the same with my LG shine. I will have to take it in for service. You had the problem quite awhile ago. Hoping you got an answer.

Cant talk

Try going to Control Panel -> Sounds and Audio Devices Click on Voice Tab and make sure the proper device is selected. Click on Volume and make sure levels are appropriate. Lastly, click on Test Hardware and wait until you can speak into the mic to see the voice levels. If you can see the voice levels, then your mic probably works and it is just an issue of configing the COD settings. goodl luck
