Question about Microsoft Office Excel 2003 for PC

Enter data the number 10 on cell A1. Enter data the number 20 on cell B2. Mouse click on cell C3. Press equal sign, press left arrow, press *, press left arrow twice, press enter. Mouse click on cell C3. You'll see your formula on the address bar. Hope this helps.

It's only in Excel you can't scroll? Can you scroll from side to side? If you have Excel 2003, try to press the "window" tab on the top and if the freeze pane is checked, uncheck it. Or if it says unfreeze pane, press that one. Hope this helps :)

Add another colum, say D with result of B*C

Do a list of the different cat, and use sumif

For cat 0101 (in cell F1)

formula to put in G1

=sumif($A$1:$A$7000;F1;$D$1:$D$7000) where F1 contain 0101

expand the formula for other cat. (G2, G3, etc)

You can use a assistant to extract the distinct cat from A1:A7000, sorting them and copy the result in F (Menu Data-> Filter -> elaborate filter)

The cell I created this formula in was Sheet 3 Cell C9 - to show the different sheets

A2 is the cell I want to look up

Sheet1.A3:D27 is the range of cells that contains the data I want to return, The first column relates directly to cell C9 is Sheet 3. I locked the first cell in my range as I wanted to apply the same formula across other cells hence the $

2 is the number of the column that has the data I want to return, I had a choice in this formula of 4 columns

0 is the value to complete the formula

for example, cell A1 has date (01-01-2008) and cell A2 has current date (08-24-2008) and cell A3 shows total days, is that you want to know? if yes, apply formula as under...

Any formula in Excel starts with the equals sign ("="). This is how Excel distinguishes between formulas and literal values. Knowing this, you can create lots of formulas using the usual operators of +, -, * and / for addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, respectively. Please see the examples below.

Add 1 + 1: =1+1

Add the contents of cell A1 to the contents of cell B1: =A1+B1

Subtract 2 - 1: =2-1

Add the contents of cell A1 from the contents of cell B1: =B1-A1

Multiply 1 times 2: =1*2

Multiply the contents of cell A1 times the contents of cell B1: =A1*B1

sorry, I need a bit more information, because if as you say, column d contains text data such as RO, MO etc, then Excel can't perform a calculation such as MO*70 ?

Assuming you are in Excel or another spreadsheet application.

To multiply cell A1 by cell B1 with product in cell C1, type in cell C1: =A1 * B1
