Need a wiring schematic KDC C717

Installed in neighbor's 1967 Mustang. Neighbor removed radio and now doesn't have his installation manual. Need to know where red, yellow, two black wires go so I can put it back together and get it out of my garage.

Black typically goes to ground.
Red goes to battery (+) (+ all the time)
Yellow typically goes to switched power (+ when ignition in run position)

I bought a car with a KDC BT945U Audio Radio, but no manual. All it does is blink "Protect". It has a remote but pressing buttons on it doesn't change anything. Where can I get an...

The manul for the KDC-BT945U is available from Kenwood: http://www.kenwoodusa.com/Car_Entertainment/2010_Car_Entertainment/KDC-BT945U . Click on the Manuals tab. The direct link to the English version of the manual is http://manual.kenwood.com/files/4c3ba7ba66e53.pdf .

When Protect is blinking in the display, there is a short circuit in the speaker wire. Make sure that it is correctly installed and that the wire is not touching the chassis. Insulate the wire if needed. Then press the Reset button which is on the front of the main part of the unit (rotate the faceplate down) on the left side. (It's about where the source button is on the faceplate.) See page 70 of the manual for the wiring diagram and page 4 for a picture of the Reset button.

If the Protect message continues, you need to take it in to a service center.

I hope this helps.

I had the same problem. I opened up the unit and found out that there is a plastic gear that moves the loader. When worn the loader can not load tha magazines nor change cd's. I replaced the gear and the cd autochanger worked fine.
