-Base on my experience. When this happened it's time for new one.
-Fix it will end up more than new one, but still not work.

Good luck

SOURCE: rca 32v434t wont come on

Trasy, I have the same exact problem, as do many other consumers such as ourselves. However, I haven't found much of an solution besides RCA is willing to send an "authorized service technician" to my house to investigate the problem, which would cost me $99.50 JUST for diagnostics. I have taken it upon myself, and hopefully you will as well, to contact RCA and demand that they fix the problem with no out of cost pocket to us since this is a habitual problem with this model. Hopefully, if enough complaints go through, they'll decide to do a recall or agree to replace the defective part, whatever it may be. Good Luck!

Back - light problem. Check and replace damaged component/s at its back-light inverter board, or replace this board as card basis. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. It will be best to replace the inverter board as card basis.
http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/
To some model sets; especially LED back-lighted types; the back-light inverter circuit will be part of the main power supply board [SMPS]. In such cases, the power supply board might need replacement. To some models sets, the back-light inverter and SMPS section circuit will be integrated at its main board itself. If so; the main board should be replaced. To some models of sets, all these section circuit will be integrated at its main board. If this is the case, you have to replace the main digital board.
