Step 1:
The memory of your computer was cannot support the system that you load. Just upgrade the memory or else replace of higher memory.Step 2:
Just load operating system that your used previously. Because that was the compatible system that they used.

If you tried to replace a new ram and the problem did not solved. Probably the slots of the motherboard has a problem. I recommend that you need to replace it.

Check the system properties if your it came with a 1g ram try adding another ram of the same size but what I can tell you is that a beep sound is ussally associated with a ram or cpu not fitted accordingly.... if you have a blower try to remove all the dirt by blowing it out and replace the ram, when you do this your computer must be off...if the sound is still on buy a new ram and replace the old one...when replacing the operating system check if you are using a 32bit or 64bit that should help to find out which operating system is suitable for computer. I hope this is helpful as I like to diagnose problems physically....

Hi,
It's your memory, or more to the point, the memory slots. take all memory out, install 1 piece in the slot closest to the back of the laptop, push down on the memory as if pushing it into the motherboard, and hold pressure while booting.
Bet that works. if not, let me know.
I've got the same machine.
Good luck

Same thing with mine...won't turn on properly. Before this happened, I was recieving the so-called "blue screen of death" error message. I wonder if this has anything to do with it. Anyone else recieved error messages. - Rich

This indicates a possible memory problem. Reseat the RAM modules and boot up, if OK then the laptop is OK.
If not then :-
If you have two RAM modules, remove both and insert one and boot up, if it is OK then repeat with the other one - this will determine which memory module is faulty.
SOURCE: My ThinkPad keeps freezing
I had the EXACT same problem with my T41. Mine issues were caused by overheating from too much dust/dirt inside. I took it completely apart, blew it all out with a compressed air, and reapplied thermal compaund to the processor/fan...works like a charm now. Definitely start there...it cost $4 for a can of air and $6 for thermal compound and about 45 minutes of my time. It's better than spending a bunch of time and money replacing components.

Replace the backup battery and run BIOS Setup Utility to reset the time and date. This will resolve the issue.
