I have an Asko d3110. The normal wash setting is flashing, all of the other controls won't respond. The motor sounds as if its working but the cycle won't complete.

I think you still have warranty, it sounds you have faulty control panel, even if it's new does not mean it is good.

Washing machine won't drain

When your washing machine won't drain, it could be as simple as a kinked hose or as complicated as a faulty impeller on the pump. Overloading your washing machine can cause items to be swept into the space between the inner and outer tub, leading to clogs in the drain hose or pump. 4. Worn or loose belts: Are clothes still soaked at the end of a wash, even though the washing machine appears to go through the spin and drain cycles? The timer that controls the cycles may be broken. This is a job for the pros.

5. Faulty or jammed internal impeller on pump: When the spin cycle starts, do you hear a humming noise? The internal impeller that moves the water through the drain pump may be faulty or jammed. A grinding or grating sound is almost always an indication of a coin, button or other object colliding with the impeller. Based on your description and provided the dishwasher is indeed 1) an Asko 1875 and 2) filling with water, draining, heating, but not circulating, It sounds like a busted wash impeller within the main motor/circulation pump, unfortunately.

First though, do you hear a quiet sound of the wash motor starting once the unit has completed filling with water ? And be sure the unit is actually filling with water, this image below indicates the normal water level to look for....





The pump will be super quiet if the wash impeller is broke as I suspect it may be...almost like a fountain, since the Asko are very quiet under normal conditions. You will have to either get right down with your ear to the bottom or run it with the door open by activating the door switch with a screw-driver and look for visual/audible clues.

If so that is a tell tale of no wash action yet the motor runs, hence broken impeller. If you don't hear anything it may be a wire come off the main motor/circulation pump...but not likely.

This unfortunately is common with Asko built dishwasher`s and it is a case of being a victim of their own design.

What happens typically is the ball-bearings from the upper rack holders ( which are plastic, hence fatigues due to heat and fall apart ) come out making their way into the sump, hence breaking the wash impeller from the motor.

Let me know what you find and I'll try and help you move forward from there. If you need direction to remove the circulation motor and pump I can do that, but it is a pretty involved repair and requires pulling the unit from the cabinet...you may opt to call in a pro.

What you may not know, is the impeller itself is not serviceable, the entire motor/pump must be replaced unfortunately.

Before declaring it is indeed a motor/impeller issue, you said you hear a quiet sound of a motor starting once the unit has completed filling with water right ? Be sure the unit is actually filling with water, this image below indicates the normal water level to look for....





The pump will be super quiet if the wash impeller is broke as I suspect it may be...almost like a fountain, since the Asko are very quiet under normal conditions. You will have to either get right down with your ear to the bottom or run it with the door open by activating the door switch with a screw-driver and look for visual/audible clues. (try placing both spray arms at 12 o'clock position and placing a cup upright in the top rack. If the arms move and the cup fills, you've got circulation...if neither, you don't)

it means that water is in the base pan, can be caused by a leak or failed drain pump.

The motor might have burned out. Another possibility would be a partially fried control board.

Our Asko D1796 dishwasher has the lights on the panel working as usual but you can't select a cycle and it won't turn on. We unplugged the pipe. If we turn it off and wait for 12+ hours we have gotten it to work twice.

Check the brushes oin the motor. It's the most normal fault when this problem appears. Not a big thing to fix for a technician!
