SOURCE: the ice maker makes ice and fills the ice bin but

The problem with the ice melting points toward a cooling problem in the freezer. This could be caused by several different problems. Dirty condenser coils below the refrigerator could be contributing to this problem. I recommend checking and cleaning these coils if necessary.

Check the door seal on your freezer. A leak through the freezer door seal may be allowing warm air to enter the freezer and melt the ice.

Make sure that your temperature control is set properly.

If these tips do not help resolve the problem, it is likely that you have a component failure or a sealed system problem. The thermostat could be bad. You could have a condenser or evaporator fan problem. You could also have a defrost system failure that is causing your cooling problem. A weak compressor would also cause this symptom.

No ice

First check to see if the ice maker is operating. you can take the face plate off and observe if the gears are turning. The next thing to check is the water solenoid. This operates after the ice maker rotates to a certain degree, pushing on a micro switch that sends power to the solenoid (valve) that opens and allows water to flow into the ice maker basin If this solenoid is working you will hear a loud click. Next, check to see if the water in the inflow pipe is not frozen, by disconnecting the refrigerator AC power. Get a hair dryer and play the heat output onto a small plastic pipe that dumps into the back of the ice maker. This pipe sometimes becomes frozen with water ice and will not allow the water to flow into the ice maker. Mine has done this twice over the 12 tears I have had the refrigerator.

Frigidaire Model # GLRS267dzw2 ice maker isn't filling up with water too make ice.

As every technician knows , a water and ice dispensor refrig , has a dual water inlet valve . Just because the water dispensor works , does not mean the coil for the ice maker is working . Pour about 2/3 cup of water into the ice maker . If it dumps the frozen cubes , but does not refil with water , check the fill tube inside the freezer , from the wall to the fill cup on the ice maker , to see if it is frozen . If so , replace the dual water inlet valve , due to seeping . This is not closing completely , and letting drips thru , which freeze inside the tube . If the tube is not frozen , then the water inlet valve is bad , not letting water thru to the ice maker .
If the ice maker does not dump the frozen cubes , then the ice maker needs to be replaced . Also check the coils under the refrig , to be sure they are clean of dust , lint , etc , as this will raise the temp above 5 degrees , which is the operating temp , for an icemaker .

The ice maker on my refrigerator has stopped making ice. Water is still flowing but the tray doesn't fill and the whole mechanism seems not to function.

Pour about 2/3 cup of water into the ice maker . If the ice maker dumps the frozen cubes , but doesn't refill with water , you should replace the water inlet valve , behind the refrig , where the wall water line connects to . If the Ice maker does not eject the frozen cubes , replace the ice maker .
Also , check the ice maker fill tube , from the back wall inside the freezer , to the ice maker fill cup , to see if it's frozen . If so , you will need to remove it , and clean the ice out . This would be caused by a " seeping " bad water valve also .
Check the coils under the refrig , to make sure they are clean of dust , lint , pet hair , etc , as this will raise the freezer temp above 5 degrees , which is the temperature which the ice maker needs to operate properly .

Ice maKer is not getting water but the water side works.

Your refrig water valve , has 2 coils on one valve . One is for the water dispensor , and one is for the ice maker . So even if you get water thru the dispensor , the other coil ( for the ice maker ) could be bad . The fill tube from inside the freezer to the ice maker , could be frozen solid , keeping the water from entering the ice maker . This frozen tube , would be caused be the water valve " seeping " , which means , it isn't closing completely , and drips freezing inside the tube . indicating a bad water valve . Pour about 2/3 cup of water into the ice maker . If it dumps , but doesn't refill with water , replace the water valve but also check this tube . If the ice maker does not dump the frozen cubes , replace the ice maker , but also check the coils under the refrig , for dust , lint , etc , needing to be cleaned off . The ice maker needs to be 5 degrees to operate , and dirty coils can keep the freezer at 6 degrees or above .
