My laptop dropped on the floor last night hitting

My laptop dropped on the floor last night hitting the hardware on the back. I see if its okay this morning and everything worked normally. when I got back home at 10pm my laptop was left on and had files being installed or restored or something. But it seemed it froze so I took out the battery to reboot the laptop to see if it will normally start up and it doesn't. my laptop starts on and says, "starting windows" and it seems its loading but it doesn't. I went into F12 to enable external/internal hardware boot along with network boot but it still does the same startup. do I need a new laptop now or is this repairable? T:

Computer does not boot up The problem maybe the RAM, it could be faulty or just needs reseating to make proper electrical contact.
Reseat the RAM and then boot up your laptop. If it still does not boot up then remove the RAM module/s and take them to your friendly computer repair shop and get them to test the RAM for you. Just like you sometimes need a mechanic to repair your car, sometimes you do need a technician to diagnose and identify the fault or faults on your computer. Not only does a good service technican have the experience to deal with this type of problem, they also have the equipment that allows them to look at things the average computer user can't see, and he has a collection of replacement parts that can be used to quickly test individual components on your computer.

how to even remove or reseat the RAM? how do I know which one is it?

  • Anonymous Apr 03, 2013

The RAM modules are located on the bottom of the laptop behind a panel. I suggest you get a computer savy friend to help you.

SOURCE: Problems booting windows vista on toshiba

You may need to re-install the operating system all over again as you had tried to restore your computer using Restore Disc but failed. In these cases, you will have to try to wipe all your data and install OS once again.

M15x gaming laptop screen wont come on after sleep mode or reboot. What can I do?

Looking at your last comment, it looks like you got it working??? Just an heads up, in the future, you might not want to put your laptop into sleep/standy mode while performing an update. If you lose power or have to do a hard shutdown you could corrupt the update and your PC might not boot back up.

Monitor failure or screen failure

I am afraid it that the backlighting has gone out. It will probably need repair. Find a local computer repair (always check for three and get three estimates). Unless, of course it's still under the one-year warranty.

HEy guys, My acer aspire one was working fien this morning, shut it down then powered it back up But it comes to a black screen saying about New/removed hardware, however i haven ot changed it for a while....

If the laptop has been jarred make sure that everything is secure in its slot. Obviously the hard drive, memory and battery are okay but it never hurts to reseat those things. If everything is snug take out anything you do not need to run such as the cd drive if it comes out.
If none of that works then check to see if your laptop has a recovery option. You should see it on the screen when it firsts boots up if there is one.
If not boot with the windows cd and do a repair installation. The last solution would be to send it in.

When I power up laptop screen is blank

You may have a burned video adapter.

A trouble shoting setp you can try is attatching an external display and seeing if that works.
Also try the function F5 key combo. I think that is the ASUS mapping to switch display output.

I have an Acer laptop 3680 computer; it was working great last night. This morning, it will not turn on when I press the buttom?

It may be turning on but the screen may be dead. See if you can hit f2 as soon as you turn it on. Also try hooking it up to an external monitor.

Frozen screen

On the very bottom of your Walkman, next to where you'd normally put the USB cable on the left side (when the screen is facing you) is a reset button. Hit it with a pin, that should do it :)
