You can download a program called X Mouse for free that will allow you to change what the buttons do. My question though is what does the little button on the top of the mouse do? It used to slow down my mouse on the screen but now when I push it nothing really seems to happen.

Mouse model # FD4003 I didn't get a instruction book with my mouse, so I am wondering what the top round button is for and what the side buttons are for.

If you are referring to the wheel as the top round button, that is for scrolling up and down within web pages. As for the side buttons, they are designed (default) to go forward and backward through web pages viewed. Those side buttons will most likely only work if you load the software that comes with the mouse as they are non-standard buttons. That same software may allow you to reassign the functions of the buttons for other uses.

I want to disable the side buttons on my micro innovations mouse but I have no idea what model I have--it is not labeled with a model number.

Go to START or locate your "Control Panel" on your computer, select the "MOUSE" and you will be able to change all your settings on any mouse there.

Hope that helps.

You need to 'reconnect' it. You didn't specify the exact model of your wireless mouse, but most types have a special 'connect' button on the receiver-box of the wireless mouse or on the bottom-side of the mouse itself. Just press this 'connect' button and you should be fine ...
